I notice that he uses Grant gloves which traditionally have more padding and are regarded as a boxers glove. Does Bradley have a history of hand problems? Nevertheles his punch technique seems good so perhaps it is his choice of glove that is accounatable for his KO percentage.

    Thoughts?

I go into Bradley fights expecting the whole fight to go 12 rounds. The power just isn't there.

I've often wondered this with other fighters; unless I was carrying a hand injury, I'd go Cleto Reyes everyday.....a proper punchers glove!

    Pernell Whitaker type power.

Not devastating but enough to keep his opponents at bay and do damage.

He did floor Witter,Cherry and Peterson.

Exactly.. i mean the guy looks strong, commits to his punches and although he does slap a bit I just dont see why he isnt wearing down the guys he fights more. Maybe he just feels more comfortable with Grant gloves.

    Agree 100%.

Like Whitaker, gets tremendous leverage into his body punches and must be respected even though he won't stop many world class opponents.

Yeah I would agree with that; but is that lack of pop going to show up sooner or later? Thats the question and he may find when fighting a guy like Pacquiao that his opponent can walk through his shots.

IMO it isn't lack of power. It's just he ain't a dangerous puncher.

He has yet to meet an opponnet to walk through his shots without respecting them so we will have to see.

Personally I don't think he's moderate power will be a problem, the man has skills and heart.

Imagine if Bradley had 1 punch KO power......he'd be the full package.

Remember gloves are not just for offence , Floyd and Wright use the Grant gloves very well for defence. Also it is what you have been happy and comfortable with , Morales used to use the Japanese Winning gloves , he had great power but didnt like the Mexican Reyes.

Well exactly, but im just watching his fight with a Peterson right now and he doesnt turn his punches over as well as he could. But unless he has hand problems or some sort of sponsorship deal with Grant I dont think he should be wearing those gloves; he is basically an offensive fighter and could make it easier on himself if he had more power.

He's got power, not knockout power but he definitely DOES have power. He's by no means Malignaggi, he can bang a little bit. He dropped an iron chinned Edner Cherry, he dropped Peterson, hurt Holt badly at times. His damage is mostly done by volume, this is true, but he can bang downstairs and up and he's got the kinda power that will sap you in the latter rounds.

He is a very good all round fighter who will be a best test for anybody due to his fantastic conditioning and heart. I think how some fighters have power and others dont is one of the greatest mysteries in the sport of boxing.
