A lot of people think Mosley is a tougher matchup for Floyd than Pac. Many are saying Clottey is a tougher matchup for Pac than Cotto even though Cotto beat Clottey and is ranked in the top 10 p4p. However, I think Pac is thougher matchup. He's younger than Floyd, he's fast, he punches hard, he's an athletic freak, and he's left handed. Being left handed is such an advantage in boxing, it's like being a left handed hitter in baseball.

yeah, pac is extremely fast, which would cause floyd problems. pac throws from strange angles and that would cause him problems, but he's still an aggressive fighter at heart. he stills steps back with his hands down after throwing shots, leaving himself open for counters. floyd is the best counterpuncher in boxing. JMM is one of the best, and he gave pac all hell

pac could go life & death with JMM and then fight Hatton & destroy him in a couple of rounds. Is that because pac became a much better fighter? no. is that because Ricky hatton (who took some rounds from Floyd early) is suddenly a terrible fighter? no

It's like you said. styles make fights.

    1. During his 126 and beginning of 135 days, all of us did not think Pac was even remotely ready for 140, let alone 147.

    2. Roach AND Mosley said, 142 was NOT possible. 147's was lightest Mosley bid at that time. But when Roach shot that down (see #1) Mosley later came back and offered 140. But it was too late Cotto match up already was in the works.

    3. And when Pac took on Cotto, NO ONE HERE mentioned that Pac should have taken the Mosley fight. Instead everyone said that Pac was going to get destroyed, rightfully so (well right until the fight actually occurred).

Hindsight is a beautiful thing isn't it? Makes you look like a genius.

The bottom line people keep saying he should fought X (Mosley, Bradley, etc) but failed to say when and instead of whom.

If Pac did not fight MAB II, JMM II, EM II & III, Hatton and Cotto people would have still shitted on him.

If he fought Mosley, who was arguably less regarded at that time, people would have said he was ducking Cotto.

This is the same thing that goes with PBF. People argue that JMM was cherry picked. Of course he was. Dude just came back from a 2 year retirement. He is not going to pick the the biggest fight off a 2 year lay off. Ali fought Jerry Quarry in his return fight for chrissakes.
The mistake is NOT PBF's but people who gave too much credit the result of the fight. It was a warm up. Nothing more, nothing less.

So stop arguing what could-a or should-a. It is easy to say Pac should have fought Mosley. Say WHEN and INSTEAD OF WHOM? Don't make childish YouTube videos, pre select sound bites and nice pop music. It makes you look like a Sunday quarterback and not a real fan.

actually its true that Mosley is p4p #3.

but its dumb to say that Mosley would give Floyd a harder fight than Pac. No way in hell.

:patsch Give me a break with this crap...Just because you feel differently doesnt make your opinion anymore valid than anybody that thinks differerntly...Why cant you just accept the fact that many people think Mosley is a tougher match up for Floyd than Pac...SO how in the hell is that dumb for people to think Mosley is the tougher match up for Floyd than Floyd?

Tim Smith is right. Sugar Shane Mosley is the most dangerous fight in the welterweight division.

Mosley "lost" the fight that many people - myself included - felt he won. He and Cotto landed the exact same number of punches - with Shane landing more power punches than Cotto.

Floyd downs the great boxers of the past by claiming he is greater than all of them - yet Sugar Ray Leonard came back after a five year lay off and fought the reigning middleweight champion Marvin Hagler two divisions above Leonard's weight class.

I remember you SAME clowns were saying, "Mayweather should be fighting Shane not Manny because Shane is a true WW. He is scared of Shane!"

Now you guys are back saying that Pac is better than Mosley? Why did Pac duck Mosely? He knew what he would get. Mosley

I had Cotto 6-5-1. See this fight showed Cotto fades late in big fights. This didnt start post Margo.

I'll say this Clottey has a better argument than Mosley of getting robbed against Cotto.

Mosley is just alot older now. Hes going to look as bad or even worse than he did early against Mayorga.

that same Mosley who lost to Cotto would have gotten his ass kicked by Pacquiao.

why he couldn't convincingly beat Cotto like Pac did is beyond me.

I was the first guy saying Floyd would fight Shane, BEFORE Shane vs Berto was cancelled.

And I knew back then what I still know now: Pac is better than either Shane or Floyd.

True - but that same Mosley was one year older when he beat the wheels off Margarito who utterly annihilated Cotto.
