    I think MP/FMJ would be a tougher match than SSM/FMJ for one simple reason. Mosley has been inactive for a very long time. His timing, stamina, and legs will be a big question mark when he steps in the ring. At 38, a long lay off is not good @ all.

    Margo was a sitting target that night. Bad matchup. Also Margo had other things on his mind besides boxing such as he may go to jail or get banned. Also Cotto was winning that fight until he lost it in the latter rounds just like he almost did against Shane.

    Not sure what you mean. Do you mean why it was not an ESPN fight? Simple enough, PBF makes money. He is a draw for several reasons. He can fight the janitor at my work and it would get 300k PPV buys.

    i c, well that makes him an extreme douchebag. he makes his fans pay 50+ bucks to watch him fight a warm up. that would be what's wrong with the sport.

    now i don't recall him saying it was a warm up prior to the fight. if that's not correct, please be so kind as to post a link.

    Let's see how PaulFV felt about this very topic before Floyd signed to fight Mosley;

    "Last person off the Mayweather bandwagon turn out the lights.

    If you're a Mayweather fan, or a Mayweather-nuthugging boxing stenographer like Tim Smith, I feel bad for you. We tried, repeatedly, to warn you.

    Floyd retired for a reason a few years ago. Or, more specifically, several reasons: Antonio Margarito, Paul Williams, Miguel Cotto and Shane Mosley.

    During Floyd's time away from the game, his courage apparently has not increased in any meaningful way. The only guy Mayweather actually came back to fight -- smallish pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao -- was just embarrassingly ducked by Money May.

    So now we're supposed to hope Floyd's Cowardly Lion suddenly finds enough heart to take on aging but dangerous Shane Mosley?

    :lol:

    Maybe Mayweather signs the Mosley deal before Shane starts receiving Social Security. Maybe.

    The point is clear, however: Anyone who bought the BS cover story about why Floyd ducked Pac should be set straight by now. If not, I have some attractive bridge property in Brooklyn I hope to interest you in."

    So according to Paul, Mayweather retired in part to duck Mosley. He only came back to fight "smallish p4p king" Manny Pacquiao(but then ducked him anyway), and then ducked Mosley as he wanted no parts of him to begin with. He seems to be strongly implying that Mosley is a more difficult matchup than Pac(why else would he say he retired to avoid Shane, and only came back to fight Pac?). This of course was BEFORE Floyd signed to fight Shane. Now that Floyd has signed the fight, according to Paul, we shouldn't take Tim Smith seriously for having pretty much the same opinion that Paul had only a month ago. Simply amazing. I actually like Paul as a poster regardless. But this was too good not to point out.

    Pac is good enough to scare the fecal matter out of Void. Void will never fight him. How did he get the Mosely fight? Did Mosely agree to throw the fight? Why else would Void fight Mosey? Prefabricated fight, not worth watching. Rather watch a fight in a movie, would be more realistic.

    Thanks, BigReg! :good

    I'll respond to this later. Right now watching Lakers @ Heat and on phone with brother.

    Good work digging up the previous posts!

    You know I think you're a great poster, too, even if we're often on opposite rooting sides. Peace. :thumbsup
