His striking wasn't that good in MMA. I admire Tims drive but the guy needs to learn or at least accept his limitations.

Tim is going to get his ass kicked, although Mercer is beyond old.

Mercer/Sylvia will, imo, show that even a top MMA guy cannot compete with even faded boxing legends. Not to say that boxing is superior to MMA, thats not it at all, but it will show that these guys will not be superior outside of their comfort zone, when they are out of their element. Mercer, when shot, went six rounds with Wladimir Klitschko. Sylvia is no Wladimir, and this fight will not, imo be good for him to take.

Its kinda like how Roach said about Arlovski going into boxing, he's a big fish in a small pond in mma, but will be the little fish in an ocean once he crosses over into boxing. Simple as that. There has NEVER been a single mma guy who successfully went into boxing, and there's NEVER been a boxer whose made it big into mma either.

All this will be is a one night experiment for Sylvia, once he is kayoed by Mercer.

Hard to say how slow old Ray has got, Sylvia might be able to use his reach to stay away from the old guy but his poking punches might not be effective with the big gloves.

They should put him in with someone big and crap, like Tye Fields or Julius Long. He'd probably even lose to that calibre of oppoenent, but it wouldn't look as awful.

WORST ppv hype job in history! LOL

God Mercer has gotten old....and FAT.....still, I pick him off as the favorite, he's rarely ever been stopped, and Sylvia is out of his element. The last man Mercer beat was just a year or two ago and that was against 'The Dutch Sonny Liston'.

His striking isn't horrible. But whatever. Some mayers (mma fighters) are good strikers that can beat boxers. Sylvia though. I'll watch to find out.

Does Sylvia look in better shape?
