I'm not one to dogpile too much, not usually, but damn. I can say he got up like a warrior and tried to hold when it was time. Tim got clipped by a left hook trading in the 2nd and never really got it back together. I definitely took a lot of crap for saying "wait and see" on him and calling him regional level when Tony Harrison took a cash out and Tim won the vacant WBO last year. He still has a lot of boxing left if he wants to revamp his defense and attitude.

This one has to be historically bad in terms of the hyperbole of the prediction when compared with the ultimate outcome.

The sad part about it is that Tszyu is a decent, borderline world class operator, which is an okay thing to be in the boxing world if you didn't have fanboys hyping as the next P4P great or whatever silly crap they've been throwing around that I have paid exactly zero attention to.

Boxing is about smart moves at the right time, Tim's team keep making arrogant moves or dumb moves.

Thurman injured and they take on the tallest 154er out there on 2 weeks.... dumb move

Cut bad, all Tim or his corner had to do was say he couldn't see and its a NC, they fight on and he loses the belt.... dumb move

Decides not to take a tune up fight... dumb move

Overlooks his opponent and attempts to walk him down and blast him out of there.. left hook showed that was dumb

His US journey has been a **** show and I for one thinks he needs a new team around him.

Tim was always limited and you could see it a mile away. He was never close to being as skilled as his father no matter what people wanted to believe. He went very far and did show heart and skill so he should be credited with that and he did not hide from attempting to step up in class so he showed alot of courage in doing that as well and he should get credit for attempting to do that.
He should retire now and be proud of his career and he went as far as he could possibly go and he sure as hell gave it his all which is all that matters.
If the people around him really care about him they would be pushing for him to retire and not turn into a "name" opponent for future boxers on
    the way up.

The 154 pound division really sucks?

    What foresight.

Crawford and Ortiz hadn't moved up as of January 2-25, now had they? I didn't say it would suck for the foreseeable future, only that it sucked in that point in time. Although since then I predicted Madrimov would give Crawford hell, Fundora would beat TIm and Murtazaliev would KO him, so yeah... what foresight indeed!

Chavez Jr, Eubank Jr, Conor Benn, Hasim Rahman Jr, sons of Tommy Morrison(obviously all on different levels, the first 3 are contenders or potential contenders while the latter 3 are just club fighters), these juniors and the people hyping them need to learn that genetics don't win fights.

All the empty hype only did disservice to Tim Tszyu.

What’s your opinion of the 154 pound division now though, still puke worthy?

Aside from the Top 6 (Bud, Mad, Verg, Bakh, Fundora and Boha), as well as Butaev, it's better.... but still not that amazing.

It goes from “sucks” to “still not that amazing”, in a matter of months.

Like I said, that’s some foresight.
