There's a reason why every big player at 147 and 154 was calling Tim out.

Respect to Tszyu for not taking the easy way out by stopping the fight after the cut. Instead he continued on without showing any quit in him and still fought on even with the bad bloody cut hindering him. Also didn’t complain about the results. He’ll be back.

But wasn't good enough to win with a cut. Like many greats have. He's just a good fighter that was being overhyped.

As others have already mentioned, Tzsyu fought courageously in spite of the gash and then showed remarkable sportsmanship in not making excuses after the fight.

While many of us have/had questions about his Tzsyu's ceiling, no one can question the kid's ticker.

I'd even favor him in a rematch.

Lots of blood was going into his eyes - some cuts are bad but don't always blind a fighter like that one did.

    1. It's a shame Tszyu lost his belt this way. That was a bad cut that affected his vision.
    2. His cutman SUCKS. Even the announcers were saying he must not have the coagulants needed to stop or minimize the bleeding.
    3. I hope there is a rematch. Completely different fight.

We can't pretend like the cut didn't completely change the complexion of the fight. Even though it was only the first two rounds, Tszyu was in control and it was looking like he might be on route to securing a stoppage victory at some later point in the fight prior to the cut but as soon as he got cut by the boniest elbow you'll ever see outside of a cemetery and it started leaking like a broken fire hydrant and his face became a mask of blood he was fighting seriously compromised against an opponent who was already extremely awkward for those who can see clearly and who has the physical dimensions of a HW.

The rematch has to happen next. It's the right and honourable thing to do

I won money on Fundira winning
But I had picked Tim to win
Just couldn’t pass up on those odds
    Lucky for me
    Unlucky for Timmy
