Disagree 10/10. Both of those guys were not great. Nor are the Charlitos. There are 2 great fighters in the above post. The greatest of the 2 got robbed and the lesser didn't.

Mate, if you don't remember Harrison then why are you even in this conversation? You say you don't buy the hype and that's fine but you can only make that comment and not look stupid if you do it with full understanding of what you are dismissing.

Tony Harrison beat Jermell Charlo for the WBC 154 title and then he was beating him comfortably again until he was KO'd in the 11th. He is a legitimate world champion who had beaten the guy (and almost beaten him again) who many say would stop Tszyu. Well Tszyu beat Harrison up for 9 rounds like he was a punching bag. It was not even competitive.

So believe the hype, don't believe the hype...whatever. But at least familiarise yourself with the facts.

This advances your argument somewhat, imo. Were Floyd Sr or Roger HoFers? I don't remamber. I kinda think not, but they were pretty good and the Mayweathers a fighting family of some note.

so what does that tell you about the greatness of Harrison? Beating a Charlito conveys little greatness, imo. And then he lost, right?

Us arguing about this is kinda dumb. I'm ready to accept Tim Tzyu as a great fighter and ruler of divisions and historic and everything else. Seems like a good dude and he fights to get the KO etc. What's not to like? You just appear to be upset that I am as yet NOT ready to say he could have whupped Oscar De La Hoya. Slow down, friend. Or at least don't expect me to go that fast.

    Man, it's fine.

It's the ignorant premise that annoys me. He's not had a leg up, nor benefited in any way from his last name. If anything, it's been a hindrance because certain fighters hide behind it as an excuse for dodging him. He's only getting a shot because of his daddy sort of stuff.

All we ask is that he is judged on his results. And if he'd put this sort of record together and was American or English (or current flavour of the month, Chinese) then he'd be the next big thing. Don't believe me? This is not directed at you but look at the hype for Zhang and Joe Joyce. Comparatively speaking, Tszyu has beaten far better opposition that both of those guys combined. On this forum alone we have Zhang being compared to Ali, Foreman, Shavers, Holmes, Tyson, Lewis and every other great. On the same forum Tim Tszyu would get knocked out by Jesus frigging Ramos.

It's really odd and exposes all sorts of unfounded bias.

I loved Fernando Vargas but his boys look like a bunch of metro shirt lifters. I doubt that any of them will win a world title.

I thought at least one of em looked pretty good...what is it that makes you question their sexual preference?

Actually the youngest one looks the best of the lot of them and he doesn’t carry himself the same as the others. I don’t question their sexuality its more they think they carry on like instagram females.

lol not by me. you know better than that. pretty sure you have liked my posts in those threads. appears you're just looking for that sweet victimized sanctimony endorphin rush based on the young Tzyu not yet being hailed as Alexander. just cause other people act stupidly doesn't mean you have to. being a victim is not an expression of strength. i don't care what the media tells you.

Not a victim mate, a realist.

He can only beat who they put up in front of him. He can only call out the guys who dodge him. He cannot do anything else.

The only issue I have with you on this is the limited understanding of Tim and Nikita's upbringing. Yes, he wasn't raised in the gutter but equally his childhood was not easy and he had zero help based on his dad's standing or his name.

I don't buy that you have to grow up on the mean streets of Detroit to be any hungrier, tougher or more talented than the next guy.

Dunno but Roger won two straps and (edit- didn't) beat Kostya Tszyu so was better than good. Not sure about Floyd Sr though.

Kostya beat Roger in close enough to a shutout.
