Now this would’ve been a hell of a fight.
I got Tszyu winning by TKO in round 10 after a shootout what say you?

I think Joe Pigford and Sam Eggington beat Tszyu, but Tszyu beats the rest at 154.

I'm not ready to pick Tzysu over Vargas. I'm only a little bit older than Vargas and I remember when he was one of the top amateurs in the country. Everyone that boxed knew about him at a young age and no one was surprised when he was a world champion at 21 years old. People forget how good he was before the Trinidad fight. The guy beat Quartey and Wink Wright for God's sake. It was only after the Trinidad fight and his major back issues when he started decline rapidly. Prime Vargas would be a nightmare for anyone at 154 but that prime was very short.

    Vargas by mid round stoppage.

With that said, I like Tzysu but need to see more.

I got to go with Tim Ta-Zoo. **** I love that name and love saying that. I have to admit Charlo does make me laugh. He's a funny ****.

Vargas didn't do it for me. All the big fights, he lost.

When exactly did he beat Wright and Ike? They're good wins. But when? Because without knowing I reckon Ike was well past it? Winky well I don't know that one you tell me. Winky was a great boxer. But I'd have to know when he did in fact beat him.

Tim stops him. Vargas got exposed by the bigger boys of the division. Bigger as in, Top Dogs.

Ok so he beat Wright in 1999.

    That's a good win.

Anyone picking Tszyu must think that he is already a great fighter and, possibly, better than his dad. Just think about that for a second...

I don't think he's proven that he's better than Vargas, so I have to go with Nando.

Vargas beat Quartey in 2000 right after Quartey lost a split decision to a prime Oscar in a fight that a lot of people thought that he won. He beat Winky Wright in 99'.

Tszyu hasn't beaten anyone half as good as Quartey or Wright. Vargas lost to three hall of famers in Oscar, Tito, Shane and to Ricardo Mayorga who was a two weight division world champ. Tszyu is not on that level yet.

Way too soon for Tim on here imo.

Vargas locked horns with some of the goats. Tim is a regional level nepo baby with 2-3 good wins against guys coming off recent losses. We gotta pump the brakes.

Love seeing these polls and fantasy match ups.

I'd say Vargas 11th round KO but this is Vargas at his best in 1999/2000, against Tszyu right now. My prediction could certainly change as Tszyu's career progresses.

Vargas took the Trinidad fight too early in his career IMO and he took a lot of punishment from that fight.

Exactly Tim is a natural 154 pound beast. Vargas was stopped by Tito, Oscar and Mosley all guys who had moved up in weight.

Vargas is literally better at everything than Tszyu. Any version of Vargas (before the beating against Trinidad) beats Tszyu comfortably. This is really no contest. The only question is whether Tszyu can last the distance. He seems to have a good chin, but, really hasn't fought anybody good to test it yet.

Tszyu appears to be getting better each time out. Tim likely has a short prime ahead of him too but I'm not sure he's even there yet.

One thing is clear though that Tszyu is a very large JMW.

I have no argument with you, there. Tim is a big JMW. I just think the gap in speed and skill would be the deciding factor for Vargas.
