Apparently it will be at a 155 lb catchweight with no title on the line as the WBO refused to sanction it. A bit bizarre considering some of the dross the WBO is happy to sanction.

Understandable. It's a **** fight and Thurman has been inactive/doesn't have a track record at 154. But given Tszyus activity over the past 12 months an exception wouldn't have been completely unreasonable.

If Thurman hasn't lost it (which I'd be a bit surprised if he hasn't), then I think this could be a very interesting and underrated match up.

I still have Tszyu by UD though 8 to 4 rounds, but I think Thurman will surprise a lot of people and make this fight somewhat competitive. It's not a sh** fight. This will be Tszyu's biggest name on his record so far as of then if he takes this. Thurman is no mug, although his inactivity has been so so poor and I do expect that to play a factor.

Tszyu at 1/8, and Thurman at 6/1 is OTT.

All these guys giving zero credit to Thurman. I want Thurman to knock Timmy out just because of that. I need a good laugh.

    Not going to happen mate.

Thurman was a good fighter. How many times has he fought in the last 5 years? I'm one of Timmy's biggest fans but this fight is an absolute joke. I reiterate fan and not a nut hugger. Call a spade a spade and the fact that it's a non title fight speaks for itself.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. It's not his fault. He'll fight anyone any time. And he will. But yeah first up, this is a **** show.

    No
Not hating on Tim at all. Just would be funny to see his fans crushed if he got knocked out by someone his fans feel isn't worthy.

    This is a PPV headliner?

No. Just no. I think Keith has a shot...but I also don't give a f*** about it. Even if he wins, he hibernates for at least another year, and then what? It's a catchweight so he would have zero to offer a Terrence Crawford or anyone really. He'd do something stupid like call out Canelo though.

Goodness. If Thurman won, in addition to the disappointment felt by the Tszyu faithful, Pac die-hards will be doing a happy dance.

I don't dislike the fight as much as some here seem to. It's a bizarre match-up to be sure, but there is a level of intrigue here all the same.

The only thing that would be more funnier to top of this circus ****-show would be if Thurman comes out dancing to Living in America wearing Blue, white and red shorts and socks.

It's Apollo Creed vs Ivan Drago. The Russian Lad's going to destroy him.

In all seriousness, I've often wondered why any top American fighters never angled toward that gimmick. Apollo's attire was sublimely Patriotic.
