I wouldn't be surprised that even if he has recovered fully physically that mentally Tszyu is not the same. He had a couple pretty bad fights and that can mess with a fighters mentality.

He could bite harder on feints, react more to shots etc that before wouldn't have bothered him for example.

if i had to make a guess, i would say tim is going to show signs of ptsd as soon as things start going south. all im basing this on is the look he had on his face after one of those hard knockdowns. he looked up like his dad had just slapped him to the floor. it might have just been a momentary feeling of shock, but that expression looked submissive. to me that suggests a certain wiring of the brain. different wiring would have a different reaction. i know its not much to go on, but i dont think it was nothing. i think we all have a threshold when it comes to keeping doubt at bay, and to move among the elite you have to be in control of doubt all the time.

Yeah I remember what you are talking about, he looked shook, not a good sign for a fighter at this level. I hope they got him a good sports psychologist or something to help him out.

I am really looking forward to this fight. Glad it happens.

I was torn in the first fight because I actually like both fighters a lot. Tszyu is just great to watch. Great combinations and mindset, willing to fight anyone and no shenanigans. A fighting fan's fighter!
And fundora is just so interesting to watch with how he navigates his crazy body. Great balance and economical movements and punch selection with great understanding of his own coordination and kinetics. Being so tall and long, it is really really hard to pull off like he does. Bad example for someone who is lanky and does not do it well to that extent would be okolie for me.

I was disappointed to see tszyu lose the fight on a cut and I think I wasn't quite pleased with the scorecards either if I remember right. But what really pissed me off was that there was no immediate rematch after they took the title from tzsyu coming to fundora and getting that cut. I assume that was a pbc decision and they just wanted to keep the title inhouse?

Murtazaliev really did a number on tszyu and i hope this fight is a fight that tszyu can use to get back all his old confidence. It might do wonders mentally, repeating the fight after which everything went downhill for him.

    Wish him the best.

Torn on this fight. Tim was quite clearly just the better fighter in their first encounter. Craftier, smarter, more physical; he was getting off multi-stage attacks and could force errors out of Fundora which he countered off of. And yet Fundora is such a physical presence and so endlessly relentless in his determination that I just think he’ll test Tim mentally and push him to a place he doesn’t want to be. Tim has all the tools technically to beat Fundora but whether he can weather the storm and keep composed after the trauma of the first fight and Murtazaliev fight remains a big question mark.

    This is a 50/50 fight
The slender man is no easy out for anyone
While flawed he presents a challenge on sheer freak physical attributes alone.

This is the only fight on the card I'm half intersed in. Kinda rooting for Tim but will he get stubborn and lead with his face again? Fundora seems awkward af and definitely game with freakish size for the weight.
