I actually think Terrell comes with a bit of risk as a choice of opponent. Because he could stank the joint out and make Tim's U.S debut forgettable. But also he showed a bit of mongrel and a punch in his last two fights.
He might not be coming to just survive.

I actually wasn't sold on Tszyu a cuppa years ago but he has come along nicely and collected some souls on the way.

Needs a couple of more Gausha level and above fights on his resume because he would be making an enormous leap in class to take on Castaño or even Charlo.

I think this is a great matchup to continue Tszyu's development.

That's really perfect for his development.

I suspect win or lose (mostly lose) that Charlo is going to 160 after this fight.

I don't love Tszyu's chances against Castaño, but it will be a good fight.

It's a completely different caper fighting in the US & Tim doesn't have the benefit of 270 amateur fights behind him as a shock absorber like Dad so he will be vulnerable.

He's at the point where he needs tougher fights in a tougher environment if he's to become a better fighter though. I think Terrell Gausha is a very good choice of opponent & will provide the best indication yet of how the Tool Train is tracking.

World rankings & regional titles are one thing. Opponents like this fighting on the international stage are another.

Georgie Boi showed the value of facing some decent international opponents overseas before fighting for the titles. Smart move by Junior to endeavour to gain similar experience but it does come with considerable risk.

If Tyzu wins this does he get a chance at the winner of Charlo/casts a rematch we think or he gonna have another fight beforehand?

I don't like this fight for tim, its not going to be a pretty US debut. In fact he might lose on points.

He should do another fight beforehand, someone like Lubin or if Hurd has gotten his **** together then him.

If he gets through this fight he'll be ready for a title shot, he's not a young spring chicken anymore he's 27 years old.

Sink or swim. Show that he's worthy of the name.

If big Charlo gets the Canelo fight he’s gonna be at 168 for good so I believe this will be Mell’s last fight at 54 unless a fight with Bud or Thurman(If he looks “rejuvenated” in the Barrios fight) gets made.. And Expect Spence to fighting for a vacant JMW belt in his next fight if the Bud or Thurman fight is not made also..

Either way this is a huge step up fight for Tszyu and will be a great gage to judge if he’s any good. Tony Harrison just recently said he would love to fight him but I knew that fight wasn’t gonna happen.

Seems like a quick turnaround I agree Lacedaemonian.

But maybe, just maybe because Gausha's name as been floating around for a while as a possible opponent they have been preparing for him behind the scenes for longer than we think.

6 weeks for Castaño-Charlo is a bit wild but I imagine they have been readying themselves for a lot longer.
