One of the Garcia’s was an undefeated world champion.

    Just stop.

Tank doesn't fight at a high enough level to enter these kid of conversations.

Neither Tank nor Garcia were legitimate world champions.

Everyone knows that Haney is the one with the real championship in that division.

Other fighters unify titles and stake their claim as the best, that isn't what Tank does.

It's Crawford because USA and the narrative they've pushed to build up the Spence fight.

Narrative? USA haven't had a fighter of the year since 2011 lol.

Crawford-Spence, though a great fight, was extremely overblown. As I see it, the Ring has a soft spot for the American fighters, with them sneaking into the rankings more easily (Wilder's position being protected despite relatively fraudulent resume; Jared Anderson pushed into #7 at heavywieght; Estrada and Ioka treated like midget flavour of the week, while Spence and Davis are #6 and #8; Crawford and Spence in general being generously rated through the years.)

USA not having a fighter of the year since 2020* (Teofimo Lopez was the co-fighter of the year this year, along Tyson Fury) is irrelevant to my point, which is that there is a greater chance of being pushed into the top rankings if you are American and/or a potential cash cow, which is understandable, no hard feelings. Just a personal observation.

Spencer v Crawford was a big fight because it was two uneaten title holders for all the marbles.

Fury v Usyk would be a bigger fight despite not featuring any Americans.

Wilder did keep his ranking for a long time, but he was a title holder to be fair to him.

Davis rating is a joke, no getting around that.

It might be easier to sell a fight between unbeaten Americans but I'm not sure if that's just the market as opposed to bias.

Like I said it's been an insane amount of time since an American got fighter of the year so that's why I replied to your post. No one is getting it purely down to be american.

His and Anderson's are the most blantant offenders. I agree on it boiling down to money and marketability.

Disagreed on an American not getting the fighter of the year since 2020 (Teofimo Lopez after beating Lomachenko co-won the place along Fury after his second fight with Wilder) invalidating a recognizable pattern of inclusion and omission of certain fighters based on certain narratives being pushed.

There is a reason why Haney chose to fight Prograis rather than fight Tank. He and his Daddy know why.

But your point was specifically about Crawford getting it because he's American.

If that was the case we'd have had a winner in the last 12 years who was American.

Cos Davis somehow thinks he's the a side despite Haney holding every single belt in the division.

Davis doesn't conduct himself like a challenger taking on the champ.

But he has age on his side, once Haney and Stevenson leave the division he can probably mop up what's left without any real threat.

It’ll come down to Inoue/Tapales. If It happens before the end of the year and Inoue wins in dominant fashion, he’ll have the edge. Otherwise It’s Crawford.
