    A
One foot in front of the other.

He needs a great victory in the US over a world champion, if he can achieve that then he'll turn into a a boxing phenomenon. US boxing promoters love a great import who is young and marketable who can reach a global audience.

Agreed. Timmy's going all the way. It was foretold on the Stifler's Mum thread many moons ago that The Tool Train (as he was then known) was headed for Undisputedville. What hadn't been anticipated back then was that all the Big Doodles would go into hiding when Timmy arrived at the station. Just like the Big Doodles of a generation ago. Their theory was that the best way to beat a Tszyu is to not fight him. Unfortunately for the Big Doodles of today, Timmy isn't going away. He's going to hunt them down, one-by-one, sniff them out & expose their true mediocrity & lack of zeal for combat to the world. And if time passes & none of the Big Doodles step up, it won't matter. Timmy just moves up a division & cleans house there. Eventually someone with the same aspirations as he does (to climb to the top of the mountain & face the best of the best) will be willing to take him on. Maybe that big southpaw Kazakh who has picked up a couple of belts at Middleweight? He started as a pro at the same time as Timmy and has put together a very similar professional record. The Kazakh had 300 amateur fights on the international stage & won the world amateur championship. Timmy had 30 domestic amateur fights in Australia. Every domestic fight in Australia though is worth 10 on the international stage so their respective credentials are almost identical. The winner of that fight, when & if it happens, & if both fighters remain undefeated until it does, becomes a genuine A-level fighter & an ATG. You'd have to be a brave man or a Kiwi to say King Timmy won't do it.

I think Tim's got the talent to reign at 154 or 160 for several years - if he gets the fights. I'm definitely a fan.

But I'm pretty picky about labeling any fighter an ATG. Tim's father was an ATG but that's because Kosya hit as hard as any human being ever has at 140 lbs. Good as Tim is, I don't think he's quite at that level. Factor in that Tim's got a bit of a late start (already 29) and promoters protect their fighters like never before - and I think Tim's going to have a hard time earning that ATG label.

Yeah I basically agree. ATGs are a rare breed. The other thing is that I think Janibek would beat him at 160.

I had to read this twice..... Wasn't sure if you were joking or just looking for attention with the title.....

All time great......based on what? He's a good guy?..... You know how many "good guys" have participated in this sport. Jeff Horn, one of his former opponents, is a damn good guy. Rumored that he donated a third of his purse from the Crawford fight to the educational system back home to support the youth.

Tim is flawed in the ring. Has a lot of heart, but very flawed. Gets hit with EVERYTHING and doesn't make adjustments to take strengths away from his opponents. The 2 biggest fights of his career he came up short in. One of them he got dropped 4x on the way to a stoppage.

He lacks the power to keep elite opponents from walking him down. And he lacks the timing to keep faster opponents from throwing multiple combinations. His heart is his biggest attribute....but it's also why he took so much of a beating tonight. Having heart doesn't keep you from getting your a$$ whipped. It just pro longs the a$$ whipping.

Nobody is running from Tim. He's been called out by multiple fighters. He reportedly brushed off two offers to fight Crawford. We gotta stop this nonsense of trying to make fighters great by claiming people are so how afraid of them. Especially these guys who have done NOTHING to spark fear in any of their opponents

Tim is nothing special. Good fighter.....but nothing special. PERIOD. Nothing wrong with supporting him, being a fan, hoping he bounces back, but this campaign of him being an All Time Great, and feared is laughable.

I do believe he'll bounce back. He needs to take some get back fights before he guns for another world title shot though. Hell, take the Keith Thurman fight now at a catch weight. Work some kinks out.

This thread aged well I see. He got ABSOLUTELY WRECKED!!!! I actually liked Tszyu and believed he was one of the best at 154 but his ambition got the best of him this time and he may not be the same again mentally or physically, that was brutal.

Lol....you called it a Mayweather type combo.....lol. Starting to question how many people in these forums have ever been to a gym and/or participated in this sport amateur or pro.

It's just a series of combinations that he's practiced repeatedly ran together for conditioning of the arm and mental because it's normally done at the end of a workout to see if you can still function when fatigue sets in.

He's hitting mits.... There's a lot of kids in the gym doing this same thing and "looking sensational". All of that is timing. It's no different from being on the speed bag or shadow boxing.

A few of us overrated him. No biggie.

Always fun waiting to see which classless plank bumps an old thread though.

As cogent and intelligent an evaluation as your estimation of Inoue.
