I like Witherspoon in this one. Really peak Quarry would make a decent fight though.

Quarry might deserve to rate higher but I think Witherspoon might be a problematic opponent. Even though Jerry did well against big come forward punchers, Spoon had an awkward style and didn’t just walk into counter punches. He could go 15 rounds, had a good chin, big power, 83 inches of reach and defense that was pretty good.

I reckon Tim was a technician first and foremost.

Ya gotta favor Tim, but Quarry would present some problems for him.

I would go with Quarry, Tim did not pass the speed factor that troubled Jerry and I saw Quarry dominate a prime and undefeated Ron Lyle, KO Shavers in 1 and KO undefeated Mac Foster.

I think Jerry could get to Tim or outwork him.

I think Tim is just too big and strong for Quarry, it’s not that it’s all you’d need for Qiarry as proven, I just I don’t even think Quarry was a better boxer either and so It’d be pretty rough.

Jerry by UD. I don't think Tim going to be in great physical condition, and Jerry takes advantage, though he does hurt Tim.

    Tim Witherspoon wins UD12.

Prime Tim was longer and I personally think stronger. Prime Tim also never lost to anyone Quarry's frame size. That's not who he had trouble with. The guys he lost to were of similar stature/build or longer than him. It makes a difference because Tim could jab and wing rights. and other quick shots. Quarry I think definitely loses. Tim was fairly elite.

Especially Witherspoon's defense and his overhand right.

Quarry was a very good fighter in his prime. The Witherspoon of the Holmes fight clobbers the hell out of him in 10 at the outside.

Quarry, very good contender, but I think Tim would have stopped him.
