Unless we have an "abberation" such as the Bonescrusher rematch, I'm picking Spoon to do the job. That's right up until 96 when he dropped off a bit. AJ is big, fine, but Spoon out jabbed Larry and has one of the sneakiest overhand rights going. AJ can't cope with an old school boxer like Spoon who's gonna jab jab jab and eventually detonate that right hand. I think the bookies would have AJ as favourite but this is exactly the type of fight AJ is not going to win.
Joshua has the ability to outbox Tim and win a decision, but not the chin. Tim often got past Holmes jab , he'd get to AJ.
Witherspoon was very inconsistent but in a hypothetical matchup we pit the best version of both fighters and in that scenario, Witherspoon eventually gets to Joshua and stops him. In a real world scenario, it's more likely Witherspoon shows up less than 100% and gets beat or if he wins the first fight shows up in the rematch less focused and loses the rematch. You just never know with Witherspoon. In the end Joshua would end up with the better career because he was more consistent and marketable but Bonecrusher at his best I believe was the better fighter.
The Joshua who fought Wlad is probably too much for Tim due to the size diff. Tim destroys the one who fought Usyk tho.
I look at hypothetical matches differently. I don't look at both fighters at their best but rather what would most likely happen if the two fought in their primes on most nights
Seriously? Witherspoon lands one of those overhand rights on Joshua's glass jaw and AJ takes a LONG canvas nap. And Witherspoon WILL land - this is all over in a round or two, tops.
I think Witherspoon would probably win a decision. He's a very underrated fighter with a very good resume
Witherspoon was one of my pops favourite fighter and i remember being a little kid watching him fight, he was a good a boxer and if he landed his big right, it would ko any man. I think it would of been a great fight with Joshua and entertaining whilst it last. One of them is getting knocked out.
