It's a boxing forum people are gonna disagree with each other. No big deal. You can rate Thomas how you see fit, I just don't agree mate.

Thomas on his best day was a VERY good fighter, losing to him when he was in good form is no disgrace!
Now the 1st rd KO loss to smith, different story, but smith was a big puncher and what happened in that fight is not necessarily indicative of smith being the much better fighter

Here is the thing: Buster still got floored by Mike Tyson in his title win. And Witherspoon may have had a stronger right than Mike. If Witherspoon catches Buster, Douglas is not getting up. I take Tim by 8th round knockout.

I imagine Witherspoon would take out Douglas with an overhand right.

This too. I think Witherspoon, as good as he was, is being a bit overrated here.

Tokyo Douglas is overrated. Clearly. He beat a very unusual/particular heavyweight (in terms of style and physical stature) and people make out it would translate to beating or troubling a load of great heavyweights. It makes little sense.

That being said, he's not much below Witherspoon. I'd expect Witherspoon to win by late TKO or maybe a close decision. Both of them in shape would be a good fight.
