In 1988, instead of Dokes, Holyfield fights a game Tim Witherspoon to prove himself as the #1 challenger for Tysons crown. How does this one go?

    Nothing?

I think a motivated Spoon could have very well pulled off the upset against Holyfield in his early HW days.

Upon beating Adilson Rodriguez in the summer of 1989, showtime championship boxing threw around a bunch of available names for a contending Holyfield. George Foreman, Orlin Norris, Razor Ruddock, Alex Stewart, Francesco Damiani and Tim Witherspoon were all possibilities. In hindsight, Alex Stewart was chosen as is next opponent in the Autumn of that year.. But while going through the list, Ferdie Pacheco said that Tim Witherspoon could have given Holyfield fits depending on " which version showed up. " And that's always been the key with Terrible Tim.. When he was in his prime, well trained and fully motivated, I believe he could have given a lot of great heavyweights problems, perhaps even upset a few.. His chin, power, and awkward style might have made for a good match with Evander.. Especially around 1988-1989 before Holy had reached his heavyweight peak and before Tim was too far past it.
