Underrated 80s Heavyweight vs an Underrated 70s Heavyweight Both big punchers with boxing ability Tough men Who wins? :bbb
Withspoon out boxes him....withspoon wasn't a power puncher like lyle in any way,his skills are what wins, hes much smarter, more naturally gifted.
Witherspoon by KO or UD,,,,, A committed focused Witherspoon was a great heavy, Lyle was a brute but I think Tim could take him.
Tim by split decision in a good fight. He had a good chin, and his right wasn't no joke either. He has enough to hold off Ron late.
For sure, Holmes was out on his feet, which says just as much for his power as knocking down Foreman does for Lyle's.
Lyle is another boxer who gets overrated because he merely fought the best of the "Golden era". No outstanding wins to speak of outside of a life and death effort against Shavers. Tough guy but nothing special overall. Witherspoon was a wasted talent. At his best he would outbox and stop Lyle.
Spoon .in a similar fight to Bruno .boxes and smoothers the power early takes him out late as he slows.Could be a big spoon over hand right like Ali used.
Lyle would turn him over for the count. He wouldn't avoid a KO loss against Lyle boxing the way he did against Bruno.
Witherspoon was inconsistent and probably gets a bit too much milage for his superb effort against Holmes but he's a level better than Lyle. Spoon by stoppage somewhere around the 8th or just after.
