Both well trained and fully motivated, I’ll take Witherspoon by a decision or late stoppage. If Tim shows up overweight and distracted then Ron has a chance of taking it
Tim was more fluid, coordinated and smiled imo. Lyle did develop respectable boxing skills for a guy as big as he was. Terrible Tim was just better.
Witherspoon handled big hitters like Bruno, Smith, and Simms. I think at his best he should be able to win a comfortable decision if he's in shape and focused. Maybe like 8 rounds to 4 possibly. It would be a very exciting matchup with lots of back and forth action.
Ron would hurt Tim for sure, but the latter would catch up to him. Tim's overhand right would really get to Lyle in 10, the ref would have to stop it.
Since Witherspoon reads this forum sometimes nobody picking against him in a MM unless it's against Lewis or ali
Or prime Holmes, Tyson, Louis, Frazier, Foreman, Holyfield, Bowe, Liston, Marciano. Not sure at all Lewis could beat Tim, to be honest. If Tim is underestimated at all by Lennox, he's going to knock him into tomorrow.
Witherspoon Lyle was good but he's overrated. He performed well against Ali, Shavers and Foreman but didn't do too much else. And Shavers wasn't that good tbh
I like both guys. Ron was always in shape something Tim didn't do TBH very sporadic Tim was the better fighter. Just can't figure out why Tim was never again in the shape he was against Holmes. If he stayed that disciplined and consistently came in at 220 or so his career would have been incredible IMO. As far as this fight as long as Tim's in shape he takes it
I, too, am a fan of both guys and agree that Witherspoon/Lyle would be a great fight to watch. But I think Witherspoon, on his A-Game, would stay the course and take this.
