YES, YES, the truth at last. The Fat black man would destroy weak white Champions. His stationary head movement, low left hand, dark skin, large breasts, and telegraphed right hand would be murder to them. You saw what he did to Bruno, the strong black? Bruno would **** both brothers with one jab. Da Spoon is the truth.
A prime Witherspoon would be in with a chance. He would need a good training set up though,it would be no good coming in totally out of shape.
some american posters here are dumb as bread, thats why esb is becoming more and more a stand up comedian hate bull**** show. in no time and no world would tim the loser whiterspoon beat todays wladimir klitschko or vitali klitschko, every version of vitali klitschko would beat him by late tko and todays wlad would murder him. some of you should stop hating and try to be realistic
Let me tell you what's really dumb... ...Thinking that a lumbering pair of robots, who just happen to be presiding over the worst period of heavyweight boxing ever, are anywhere near the level of the Boxers that were around in every decade that has gone before them. It's not hate. It's realising that the Klitschkos are just better than the shower of **** we currently call a heavyweight division and that this actually isn't saying a great deal. So stop making bold claims about what Wlad and Vitali would do. You can't back it up because there's not a 'Win' on either of the Klitschkos' records that equates to an opponent at the level of Tim Witherspoon. Try and debate that point, please!
Lets be real...Witherspoon was an overweight Ken Norton without the consistent workrate. He liked to guard his face with his right and probe with his left...his right hand lead was often a loopy bomb but he could dig to the body good with it. He neaturalized left hands well, but proved vunerable to rights. I think he would present some problems for Vitali but would ultimately get timed over the top with a right cross like Kirk Johnson. Wlad would eat him alive with accurate rights. In short, he'd be another fat fighter dismissed as a bum in this day and age. He's on par with the Peter, Arreola, and Kirk Johnsons of today. Talented but lazy under achiever.
A prime Witherspoon fight with either brother would at the very least be entertaining, but his vulnerability to the right hand would guarantee his ass a nice sleep from Wladimir's right hand.
Right. So you're talking about the version of Witherspoon that succumbed to cocaine addiction, bloated in weight and looked rooted to the canvas in most of his fights, post-Tubbs; not the agile, switch-hitter that almost (and some say should have) lifted the World Title from Larry Holmes in only his 16th Pro bout. In that case, I'd agree. However, the best version of Witherspoon is not the one he is [clearly] remembered by. A top version of Witherspoon sees either of the Klitschkos' limited arsenal coming, like a telegraph that was sent the day before - with the speed and footwork to counter effectively. Let's also remember that Witherspoon had respectable power and that Wlad does not exactly have an iron chin. The version of Witherspoon I am referring to presents more than a match for either Wlad and Vitali.
Well, he was never prime..just different degrees of "out of shape." The guy began his career at a trim 180-200 and quickly ballooned to 220+ w/ huge boobs by the time of the Holmes fight. I think Wlad would dispatch him in typical passive fashion while he would be a much tougher fight for Vitali. Though his loopy rights would be ineffective and he'd take a great deal of punishment. They would be fun though.
Never prime? That doesn't make sense, really. There has to be a period where he was at is best, during the course of his career. And you overstate the size of his ***** tits by the time he faced Holmes. He wasn't even ready to be taken out shopping for his first bra, at that stage. A 6'3-4" man, weighing under 16st., is not shamefully fat, by any stretch of the imagination. His agility was clear to see against Holmes unlike later, when one could be forgiven for thinking that the soles of his boots were coated in wood glue. Also - Tim Witherspoon > Kirk Johnson (massively)
:good Totally agree with you. I was a personal friend and stable mate of Tims. He trained me for the better part of of 2009 and a few months for 2010 and was ultimately fired because of that "lazy" attitude. Barred from the gym. He is the nicest guy you can ever meet but not a great guy to do buiness with. Let alone his brother Steve.
I've explained the "prime" comment. Almost lifted the title from a disinterested fading Holmes. Pinklon Thomas' follow up domination of Witherspoon kind of puts that in perspective anyway and shows what a game jabber would do to him. Unless you want to argue that Pinklon Thomas is on another level than the Klits...which would really say alot about you and where you are coming from.... Witherspoon and Johnson are both talented underachievers with a few good wins and worse defeats, you are free to split hairs. I guess Johnson wasn't lucky enough to face an obese Page for a belt, about it really.
I think it's fairly obvious where I'm coming from already, wouldn't you say? The Klitschkos are not that good. They rule over a division bereft of talent. This is not a wild claim. It is a consensus opinion in Boxing circles and across the paying public. I agree that Witherspoon was a talented underachiever but discrediting the few things he did do doesn't change the fact that his efforts far outweigh anything Kirk Johnson managed. To say otherwise is pure fantasy (and that ain't splitting hairs, either). Thomas was a solid Boxer in his own right and he didn't exactly 'dominate' Witherspoon, either. Wlad has been beaten by lesser men than Witherspoon and Vitali's greatest claim to fame is losing to a truly disinterested and faded Lewis. Until the standard in Heavyweights begins to significantly improve it seems a fairly futile exercise to make comparisons with Fighters that are from eras, which were clearly so much better. To put this into context, most of today's Heavyweights wouldn't even have been used for sparring by Holmes, let alone earn a title shot at him.
