How good was Timmy at his best? Matching him up against the following fighters:

    Norton
    Bowe
    Vitali
    Tunney
    Walcott

I think he loses via decision to all those guys unless he shows up in exceptional form while they happen to be having a bad night.

Spoon vs Norton would be a war I don't think Norton would freeze early so if that's the case I'll take Norton by UD.

Spoon vs Bowe - the best Bowe was to good for Spoon I think. Spoon may shake him with that clubbing overhand right but Bowe was KO proof (pretty much) he could take as much as Spoon could give. I'll go with Bowe by UD

Spoon vs VK - tough fight to call VK is a monster h2h but Spoon may shake him up with that right a few times. I see a chess match not a war in which VK takes a majority decision.

Spoon vs Tunney - vastly different eras but Tunney took Jack Dempsey the limit. Hmm very tough I'll go with Tunney by split dec or Spoon late KO undecided

Spoon vs Walcott - Jersey Joe avoids the right and puts on a boxing clinic!!

Spoon v Norton, I see it being Spoons jab vs Norton's body attack. I think Spoon wins though and this might be the best man Spoon can beat. Spoon KO.

Spoon v Bowe, I don't see Bowe being out jabbed here because he was an in fighter and Spoon doesn't have quick enough feet to keep at range and he doesn't have quick enough hands to out punch him on the inside. Bowe UD.

Spoon v Vitali. Vitali has better timing than Spoon and punches too often someone as lethargic as Spoon. Vitali UD.

Spoon vs Tunney. Tunney in his current guise might just be worn down over the stretch trying to outbox the much bigger man. Let Tunney add a stone of muscle and I think he does the job. Tunney UD.

Spoon vs Walcott. Goes without saying. Spoon KO.

Norton, Bowe, and Vitali would beat him. Tim would beat the other two.

Beats Norton and Bowe, most of the time.

    Loses to Vitali.

I don't know about Walcott and Tunney. There's nothing to compare to.

Regarding the pick over Bowe, I'm not sold on Bowe beating someone that crafty. Holyfield and Gonzalez were there to be hit and he looked like **** versus Tubbs and Mathis Jr.

Spoon was ridiculously close to stopping Holmes, this leads me to believe he has a chance against all of them, even if it's a slim one. Bowe would likely be durable enough to take a decision, maybe stop Witherspoon if he brings his A game. Vitali would likely out box him, Walcott, Tunney and Norton would likely be close fights, but I'm not 100% sure all 3 last the distance

I just rewatched round nine of Tims bout with Holmes. Yes he came close to at least knocking Holmes down and perhaps 3-4 solid consecutive punches from the ref stopping the fight. But it refreshes my mind as to why I rate Holmes so high. He really had the fighting hurt and will to win of an ATG. He fought back so hard even though out on his feet.
