Whichever renditions you feel are the best of these two guys against each other. My pick ( and probably most people's ) is Vitali. But I wanna talk about how it plays out. I think a motivated and well trained spoon might actually give him a good fight.

spoon outhustles vits, who retires out of embarrassment at being behind, being reminded what happens when he gets in the ring with an actual champion.

Yea, herolg got it right, Spoon schools klit, then knocks him out. At his best he could do it all, be cute, box, and KO power. Its a shame he had those problems with King that partialy derailed his career

Spoon at his best would beat vitali .that booming over hand right smashing into vits chin as spoon hustled his way in slipping vits big shots.could resemble the ekland fight from 89 .spoon was not at his best very often when he was he was very dangerous.

    Vitali takes this.

Spoon had a good accurate jab and a looping right hand but his handspeed never impressed me nor did his discipline.

Vitali probably meets him punch for punch through the early rounds till Spoon gets discouraged for a late round stoppage.

THe word 'hustle' and Witherspoon don't belong in the same sentence. Tim would have his moments, but Vitali would outwork him and win by UD.

you need one to imagine vitali getting in the ring with a real champion after what happened with lewis.

but this is an imaginary fight, thankfully.

I agree, maybe 60/40. An interesting matchup between two very good (not great) fighters. The keys for Witherspoon would be energy and determination. If he wants to win he'd really need to impose his will in this one. Vitali's sheer size and reach would make him favorite against the more skilful Witherspoon. Vitali is very predictable and Witherspoon would have to find a way to take advantage of that if he wants to win.

In terms of technical ability Witherspoon was one of the best heavies ever and Vitalis cowboy stance is a red flag against Tims overhand right. Witherspoon by late stoppage.

Vitali certainly had flaws , but I think his chin was solid.
I doubt Tim would crack it.

I can see a replica of the Eklund right hand putting Vitali on his ass.
