At his best, Tim could win this one if he didn't get stupid. He had the speed and mobility, but I don't think he had the mentality necessary to pull it off.

Tim had the physical skills to do the job ... maybe the Witherspoon that defeated Bruno ...

That's pretty much how I see it as well. I personally wouldn't favor him to beat Klit though. Tim was never really in great shape, and nor was he very consistant - two things that Vitali is actually known for being..

The Witherspoon who defeated bruno was fat and out of shape. I like the witherspoon who fought holmes over vitali klit by close decision. Vitali keeps that left too low, and tim with his fantastic counter right hand will time it right over the top.

most of Witherspoon's wins were close decision. he did score a KO over a green, stiff Bruno and Gonzales but so did others. Tim would get TKO'd by Vitali. I dont think He would be able to pressure Vitali and the pace of the fight would favor Vitali, the better conditioned fighter. I see a stoppage around the 8-9th rd. RSC or Tim retires

Yeah, as much as I like Witherspoon, I think he's just too outmatched physically and stylistically.. The only way that I can see him winning, is if some fluke disaster happened, such as an injury like in the case of the Chris Byrd fight, or a massive cut opening like the Lewis fight, but I can't see Spoon out fighting and out gunning Klitschko..

VK UD, maybe closer than his usual fights, maybe an 8-4, Witherspoon knew how to bring it

I agree with Bummy and Magoo as well. Now fighting Wladimir I would give an edge to Witherspoon that fought Larry Holmes.

I would say Tim if he were a little bigger. The Klitchkos winnning is due a lot to their size. Tim was big also, but still not as big as the Klitchkos. But Tim the same height and weight as the Klitchkos I think knocks them both out. Tim was underrated. I always thought he could beat Mike in Mike's prime. But they never fought.

I think Witherspoon would beat Vitali Klitschko.
Witherspoon had a style that was actually well-suited to fighting bigger men, and was 6'4" himself, so the physical mismatch stuff doesn't hold much water.

If Witherspoon was in shape he might stop a tiring Klitschko late, or win a hard-fought decision.

Witherpsoon had great all around tools, but to me lacked a killer instinct at times, and had focus issues in and out of the right. Vitali would win a decision here.

It pains me but i see Vitali outpointing Tim who to me is a little overrated mostly based on the Holmes fight.

Versus Wlad i can see him connecting with that sneaky haymaker he liked to set up and IMO he has a decent chance.

Is this serious? How many of you assholes actually believe what you are typing? Vitali Klitschko would wipe the floor with Tim Witherspoon on his best day. I smell the lousy stinch of Klitschko haters in this room, which isn't uncommon on the classic forum. I have met Tim Witherspoon and he is an extremely nice guy. He sat and talked to fans, signed autographs and thanked the people for coming out to see him. Being a nice guy won't win you a fight against Dr. Ironfist though. Prime to prime, Witherspoon would have been up shits creek without a paddle if you know what I mean.
