:rofl If this had been posted 90 years ago (by pigeon) then the answers would have been "about 2 or 3 weeks to keep themselves fresh".
I honestly believe that a novice fighter should fight 8-10 fights per year its good experience they get paid and build up a fanbase and momentum. I hate it when top fighters get early knockouts and still wait 4-5months until their next fight
That doesn't count Wallet and u no it! I'm not sure. I must admit, I've never across that name before if truth be told. All I no is that Jimmy knocked out two guys in the same day in 5 rounds fights in the Woolwich Dockyard. Weather it was that tourney I'm not sure
Dont see why top prospects cant go out and fight once every 2 or 3 weeks. The likes of Price, Fury, Helenius, Boystov, could all fight far more than they do. Fury after his fight with Larson, could easily take on a lower level fighter or two then step up again. Instead these guys fight 3 times a year as a prospect. D. Wilder team have him 18-0...they have the right idea but every 3 fights he should have a stiffer test. For example with Fury i would do this over the next 12 months. Sept Larrson 14-0 Oct Paul Butlin 12-15 (rarely gets knocked out) Nov Julius Long 15-16 (7'1) Dec Martin Rogan 14-2 (British, Commonwealth titles Jan V. Mandalone 33-7 (loses every time he steps up) Mar A. Harrison 27-5 Decent mid tier level fighter (British, Commonwealth titles Apr D. Williams 43-10 Shot but a its a fight filler - british, commonwealth titles Jul D. Price 11-0 ( could be about 15 by this time) Sept A. Dimtrenko (top 20 fighter. So that would be 9 fights in 12 months, alot of the fights could be a waste of time if we took the modern view point of fighting once a year which seems fine by most but who wouldnt tune into watch Tyson literally fight every month...he would not be getting out of shape. Some of the fights wont be as hard on the body...Williams is shot, Butlin and Long a low level journeyman. Mandalone, Rogan, Larrson are mid level journeyman...then you have Harrison, Price on the same level and a tough fight with dimtrenko.

Another thing, Helenius has fought - A. Levin October 2010 S. Peter April 2011 S. Lykovich Sept 2011 This is good matchmaking but they could also throw in fights between each of the step up fights with lower level opposition. If you notice with Fury ...he fights Larrson an undefeated fighter then takes two lower level fights, with the view of taking a step up or the same level as Chisora...later...then fights a Mandalone, then takes Harrison on etc. So its not always making the hardest fights, it such the activity...the fighters and the sport would really benefit.
Not so much at HW, but everywhere Else regular fighting is made much harder with 24 hour weigh-in's. Unless of course the regular fighting means the smaller guys pull it off more often than not....that used to be common :tong
Clearly a novice should be fighting every fortnight and a seasoned main eventer at least once a month... Otherwise, the fighter should be considered a tart.
