Of course he should. You can see in his two title fights that he's not that athletic, and all he really has going for him is size. He will get seriously hurt if he continues, though I'd love to see him against David Price or Charles Martin.
Nahhhhhhh, do we want every single Heavyweight that isnt at the very top of the sport to retire cuz they get smashed up by the big guns? Breazeale got plenty to give this sport he just needs to realize what level he should be fighting at. He is the type of fighter you want to see the up and comers in with. Would be a very empty division if anybody who wasnt good enough to be a world champ quit.
No, he can still make good money, but he'll end up punch drunk with the style he's got. It's his call really.
You do realise he gets punched up by everyone LOL, just until he lands his own and things go his way. Everyone T's off on Breazeale.
no, he can still separate the pretenders from the contenders. Put him in with the Kownacki, Ajaba, Joyce, Usyk types or even Gassiev if he moved up
This. It’s still a little early to call it a career. If Breazeale is willing to get serious and fix some of his mistakes and gets more disciplined with his diet he could improve, since I seen first hand the messy foods that he eats.
The only problem with that is he hasn’t played football in over 10 years. I can’t see anybody wanting to invest in him at this point and he’s still good enough to compete with the fighters outside of the top 5. He just needs to work on his sloppy habits and practice his drills correctly, since that textbook mistake he made against Wilder wouldn’t have happened as early in the fight as it did if he were training diligently.
If he had Washington's work ethic and diet he'd be a much better fighter. I've always seen these two as two halves of a semi-decent fighter: Breazeale has the power, the heart and the toughness, Washington has the athleticism, the conditioning and the skills. Together they could rule... the lower half of the top ten.
There is one more big pay day for him..Fury. He'll must likely will drop a UD. Then he should retire. There is no more big name for him to fight.
I reckon he could beat up a few no hopers, get into another title shot, get beat down and repeat the cycle twice more before retiring.
