Any trainer is going to publicly declare that their charge is going to win an upcoming fight. That's why I said he speaks a lot of sense when it comes to fights outside of the boxers in his stable.
Yes, because he trains them! Hence why the thread starter said picking fights not involving enzos fighters.
Video posts of Calzaghe calling out Pavlik have been posted numerous times here. Two different ones. Joe made the call and then wouldn't accept the fight. What would you call that?
I'd say he was taking the path of least resistance as has been the case for the majoroty of his career. It's like I'll never say he "avoided" Jones because up until recently they weren't in the same division. Joe just didn't take up the challenge.
Pavlik would have moved up to 168 to fight Joe just like he's moving up to 170 for this fight. At least i think...:huh
Yes he'd be moving up for that fight but it's not Pavlik's division, that was the point I was making. He is the middleweight champion.
I hate to admit it but I agree 100%. Jermain Taylor gave Pavlik fights in their rematch. Hopkin's will nuetralize KP's right hand and mual him on the inside. Plus, he'll land clean, straight righthands on Pavlik's chin all night. I love KP but this fight is all wrong for him. His only hope is that Hopkin's finally turns old in this fight and tires out towards the end of the fight....We all know Pavlik has the power but I don't see him landing clean enough and often enough to kO Bernard.
Everyday it becomes more obvious that Calzaghe fans cannot stand the idea of Pavlik beating Hopkins more clealry and cleanly than Joe did. God forbid, someone might say that Pavlik is as good as, or better than, the cardiff duck pond champ! Pavlik by a clear UD or late TKO; get used to it.
:deal And I thought we would actually be getting the TRUTH in this thread... Nothing but more shiiiiiiit. :dead
Though I want Kelly to win, I gotta take my hat off to B-hop for bein' such a warrior. He's arguably one of the most nonvaginal fighters the sport has ever known.
