Injury or no injury his time was already up a year ago or so

When he is having to swim and cycle in his last few training camps to relieve the strain on them old knees of his like Sergio Martinez then you know time is up.

Now he is just delaying and time takes its toll further...

Fury yet again bieng phophetic in saying he would retire Wlad.

It's getting embarrassing for Wlad. Would like for him to either pass the reigns on to someone who's not going to crazy it away, or mount a comeback and unite all the belts, but I'm getting increasingly doubtful that's going to happen. And if not, then he should definitely retire.

He should have one last fight for his fans and call it a day. I know he wants to avenge the Fury loss but that rematch will never happen.

I tend to be the last one to hate, but I kind of want him out - now. His reign was due to end, Fury saved the HW division then when he spiralled out of control and WK started trying to unify by fighting a single guy I started having conniptions... I am so glad it seemed like WBA/WBO weren't going to allow that to happen, and this injury may be a mixed blessing.

The best thing Klitschko could have done is fought AJ and given him a SERIOUS fight, but lose. Injury then retirement is a good second - though obviously sucks for him, but age and marketability are going to start working against him.

if Wlad keeps fighting, it's not going to end well for him but I will respect if he actually goes after the biggest threats in the division. Browne is a mismatch that's easy for him and at this stage a near waste of time, IF the fight gets made and even that's looking unlikely now. I suppose if he tried to go after the biggest threats it could hurt his legacy a bit for losing to guys his own size after feasting on guys mostly smaller than him. If that's a problem then retire.

Edit: Just found out about his "injuries". Whatever. Hopefully he recovers and takes on a big threat in 2017. AJ or Wilder preferably.

The fact he's picking up so many injuries suggests he is physically breaking down. He was injured prior to fighting Fury and now he's injured again, he's had a long career and done well to has reigned as long as he has but he may have to call it quits as I doubt he can push himself like he used to and not pick up injuries.

Wlad's been freaking unlucky to say the least. Must be very frustrating for him to go through the loss to Fury, the 2 botched fights with Fury, then this mess now. What a disaster.

He's been shot to **** since at least Jennings. Any live opponent should be able to outbox him now.

True but a big part of those things , as many others have already said here , is his age. Not many 40 year old elite athletes out there.

Just sad he lost to a total joke, cheat and bum in Fury who's pissed him about for a year.

I realize he's way past his best. No doubt. But, how frustrating must it be to spend your final years dealing with a psychopath and injuries.

It honestly sounds to me like he just did not want to fight even this "green" Joshua in England. Naturally, this "could" be wrong... but I get the impression he didn't like being presented with a contract -and stipulations within it- that were less one-sided (i.e. not completely skewed in his favor).

Wladimir seems to be used to terms being his way. The prospect of fighting Browne in Germany has been met with a bit of backlash, and there has been talk of it being tough to get the money sorted out (allegedly Browne wants more). K2 might have decided to just pack it in for the year and fight early next year.

In hindsight, Fury "exposed" a lot about Wladimir before his career went off the rails, but I believe Wladimir would've taken that fight, win or lose. He had his sights set on him. Who knows what the future holds, but I just think both of these two will fight again when the division looks even more conveniently barren someday... but they just won't be facing each other again.

His time is past. Wilder, Joshua, or Ortiz will knock him out. They will also knock Fury out. For him to fight anyone else is a joke. He should've retired one fight earlier.
