I believe the timing is just right to start a tournament like this and Goossen should be jumping into this opportunity, as he has Thompson vs Chambers already going on and Arreola very high on the rankings.

There should be some interest from the TVs in airing this and it will help the division get some attention back in the US.

The idea is to make a mix of different talents, vets and new blood with the winner getting a shot at the world title.

    My idea:

Fight #1 - Tony Thompson vs Chambers

Fight #2 - Arreola vs Jonathan Banks

Fight #3 - Seth Mitchel vs Cedric Boswell

Fight #4 - Michael Grant vs Franklin Lawrence

Fight #5 (alternates)- NiƱo Rodriguez vs Kevin Johnson

The winners meet up till there is one fighter left, fights every 60-70 days. The 5th fight is made as security considering there is a high probability the winner of the 1st or 2nd matchup will get a shot at Wlad Klitschko before this is over. This tournament involves all of the relevant HWs at the moment.

There could be 2 separate cards to stage all fights to begin with.

I would like to watch something like this.

    Thoughts?

Joe Hanks should be in there.

    Tor Hammer?

    Deontay Wilder?

    Briggs?

    Rahmen?

    Toney? Well, not Toney.

The reasons I left those names out:

Joe Hanks - kind of raw, still 2-3 fights away from being on point of consideration.
Tor Hammer - way too inactive after the loss - hasn't fought anyone decent, undeserving.
Deontay Wilder - only fought tomato cans to this point, undeserving.
Briggs - retired and completelly shot after Vitali.
Rahman - shot, only fights exhibitions these days and is awfully out of shape, a gate keeper.
Toney - exhibition fighter, out of shape.
Mo Harris, Ray Austin and Rossy- No real talent.

Not much. Arreola is a level above the rest.

I'd watch it as well. I'd like to see Chazz Witherspoon and Kevin Johnson get a fight on.

A under 20 fight HW tourney would be nice too. See some of the younger or less experieced guys step it up like DelBoy and Fury just did.

That David Rodgriquez is looking interesting too after his destruction of journeyman Owen Beck.

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing Arreola-Chambers at some point. It obviously won't happen before Arreola fights Wlad but it should happen at some point. I also wouldn't mind seeing Arreola fight Fury or Helenius...Chris is by far my favorite HW at the moment.
