Time Machine. One Wish, One Fight. Any Era. Who? When? Where? Why?

Easy. Give me ringside seats to the FOTC, and give me a couple weeks beforehand to prep. I want to eat and live as clean as humanly possible, so I'm as alert as humanly possible during the fight, and so I remember it as best as my brain will physiologically allow. No thanks on a ringside beer -- can I have a ringside coffee?

A runner up would be Johnson-Jeffries, although I guess I'd have to keep the fact I'm rooting for Johnson to myself.

 

Wait. Can I contact people from this era? If I go back for Tyson-Douglas, can I call my father (as I was still a teen then), convince him it really is me from the future, convince him to bet every cent he has on Douglas?

Where: Madison Square Garden.
Why: There's no film of Sullivan, and I'd love to see him in action. And this, IMHO, was the 1st Gloved, Queensberry, Heavyweight Lineal World Championship fight.

 

I appreciate the people going to really old fights that have no footage. I think that's cool but I personally couldn't do that. One) I don't know if the fight will actually be exciting. I find most boxing pre-1930 to be boring. There are exceptions of course. Two) I do not have the confidence to take me and my friends to 1880's America. That is a disaster waiting to happen.

If I had to pick a fight with no footage to see I think I would go with Tiger vs Depaula.

Have you seen those videos showing Antonio quietly walking up to Floyd & asking him. "Why wont you fight me" ? Floyd went ballistic he was literally scared to death. His goon had wandered off & no one was paying Floyd any attention. If you have seen them the big guy standing next to Tony Is the guy that told me about it. Floyd had one big problem he could not FIGHT!!! Just run potshot & hold. Look at how Maidana beat the living heck out of him Joe Cortez wasn't there to protect him. Remember Khan beat Maidana Floyd ducked him to lol
As for "Spanking " name me one fight Floyd Spanked!!! He couldn't knock a fly off a cow pattie LOL Run, Potshot, Hold, REPEAT The Vegas judges will give him the decision regardless

Jock Malone vs. Maxie Rosenbloom, St. Paul, Nov. 15, 1927

I like St. Paul-style boxers. My dad lived at the home of Malone's father in Minneapolis during the 1930s. This was the final great performance by Malone. He is said to have outclassed Maxie from the start. George Barton said that Malone was the most naturally gifted of all the St. Paul fighters. There is no film of Rosenbloom's fights. He had more than 270 bouts over a 16-year career, scored only 19 KOs, and was stopped only twice, once very likely by a low blow. How could a guy who couldn't punch have so few KO-bys on his record? Maxie has always intrigued me.

Your going to laugh at me but I'd love to see Duran vs Mamby and how close it was. I don't think we saw prime Mamby because when he won the title he was well into his thirties. I'm curious how he looked young.
