For anyone to domiante Williams is impressive. I'll need to check this out. Cocoa Kid is just a pure anomaly, how the hell do you size him up without seeing footage. He must have been awesome to wath though.
:-( And he wore the cuffs/hit the deck, too I always ranked him last out of the Murderer's Row, just out of spite, but if you take the Williams domination into account...horrible, just a horrible fighter to rate and understand. If you do do some digging, i'd like to hear any impression you make of his jab, okay?
Aye thats what makes it so hard, how do you know whats 'fact or fiction' with him, so to speak. But yeh Ill dig abit further into that Williams bout and see what I think of him and his jab. Thing is it is a shame for Cocoa Kid, hes never going to get the recognition he might deserve.
When I was in the Navy, I met a fighter Jimmy Leto, who beat amongst others...Cocoa Kid-ko Charley Burley Fritzie Zivic Lou Ambers- draw At that time I didn't realize what sailor Jimmy Leto accomplished...
Wow. Good fighter he was, abit forgotten these days due to being overshadowed by the 'murderers' Do you remember much about meeting him?
I just remember Leto as short..He was way past his prime...I just recall shaking his hand...I was a kid then, didnt realize how good he was in his twenties...He must have been some tough fighter to beat those fighters, being so short...
Hey, Burt. It's been a while since I last talked to you. I have been a little busy trying to get a job and things like that. You have a fine list there. I might have to ride with you in your time machine so I can see those fights too.:good When I first read the topic of this thread, after Greb, I thought of Sullivan-Corbett. Ketchel-Langford is a fight that I would love to see. A shame it was only a 6 rounder. Any prime Bob Fitzsimmons fight would be great to see too.
