Time Magazine and Boxing

    For those more research inclined, how does Time Magazine's historical coverage of boxing compare to, say, The New York Times? I'm looking particularly at the 1930s. Any feedback is much appreciated.

    Wasn't it called Life Magazine back then? If they are the same, that was the most important rag in the country at that point.

    No, Time magazine has been in existence since 1923. Life magazine was purchased by Time's owner in 1936. Time's emphasis was on the news. Life's was on photojournalism and light entertainment.

    Did Time have a real good writer covering New York fights in the 30s? Anyone know?
