Something is clearly wrong with Spence. It doesn't even have to be anything dramatic. All it takes is one small thing and an athlete can no longer compete at a high level. Errol's silence on social media is telling. The man makes his living by growing his audience which is done in large part by a social media presence, and he's been silent since September after a big win. I think Errol tried to move around in the gym a few times and it just isn't there. If you're an elite athlete and you need a whole year to recover with physical therapy from a car crash then it's probably a wrap. Hoping the best for him, but this really does not look good at all.
I agree with the OP. I bet Spence lost a bunch of teeth and also suffered a concussion. No broken bones, but definitely damage taken.
IF HES SMART HE WONT RUSH TO GET BACK IN THE RING. HES YOUNG, TAKE THE TIME HE NEEDS TO FULLY RECOVER!
Hopefully its not, but if this is the end for Errol Spence career He needs to think himself very fortunate to still have his life. What he did was idiotic I wish him nothing but the best & hope he can come back
Breaking bones, teeth, lacerations ain't that bad in the grand scheme of things. Even a concussion. Muscular and tissue damage is the threat. Nerve damage. Spine. Discs in his back. that mangled convertible was terrible. you can't walk away from that unharmed. probably we never ever see the same fighter again
We haven't heard a pep about this kid since. I thought he'll be back butIm starting to get suspicious myself. What do you think the chances are he doesn't come back? ______________________ I hope he comes back, but man if he doesn't just imagine how disappointed he must be with himself. Better sell those cars and jewelry and start investing for the long term.
I think he is definitely coming back. If he didn’t believe he could come back, he would have made a retirement announcement. He will have to vacate his belts but should return in 2021.
I think his career as a professional boxer is probably over, sad though it is. He is probably injured and seeing if it can be rehabilitated, but it probably can't be to the extent of being a top boxer. Spence will in future be known as a top P4P boxer who threw his career away, and will serve as a warning to future boxers.
I believe this as well, there is a complete dead zone regarding Spence news. I follow his SM accounts, Spence is a very vocal and active guy on social media, and after the accident, his activity completely died. As someone that actually deals with accident injuries for a living, I'm thinking he's got some fairly serious issues. I personally am skeptical that he fights again.
Interesting this has been building up for others too. The first few weeks weren't a shock but now it's getting a bit different. He said "no broken bones" but a lot of other stuff can happen which are permanent problems which you don't need to break anything for. I hope not, but it is hard not to think so after this length of time of full silence
