Who? Nonito has fought NOBODY since Darchinyan. Nonito, in his career, has fought a grand total of ONE fighter who was top 10 in his weight class at the time they fought. Granted Nonito has looked great in the actual ring, but his record is overrated as hell. And then you come back with this? Seriously? Are you just a nuthugger and I never noticed? When has Nonito ever fought in enemy territory? And Hasegawa's record is SIGNIFICANTLY better than Nonito's. Unlike his Flyweight counterpart, he actually has been fighting guys in the Ring top 10. He hasn't unified, but neither has Donaire, so I don't see how you can make that argument. And what close fights has he been involved in? He's won 5 of his title defenses by KO. He won his title from Sahaprom in a close fight, then knocked him out in the rematch. He hasn't been involved in a close fight since then.
And you blame him for something that is not of his own doing? The fact is Donaire turned your idol into chicken dancing ****. Hasegawa is already a bantamweight. How can you compare him to Donaire who is still a flyweight going up to superfly, moron.
Donaire is by far the least acomplished fighter that has ever been in the Ring's pound for pound list.
LOL, I'm not some huge Darchinyan fan. Fact of the matter is though that Donaire hasn't done anything, and the one good win he has looks a lot less good now than it did last week. We're talking about the POUND FOR POUND list. On the basis of actual accomplishments, my argument is that Hasegawa is much more deserving of being on the pound for pound list than Nonito Donaire. So is Chad Dawson. So is Chris John. Hell, even Juan Manuel Lopez's record is less padded than Donaire's. Sure, Arum keeps sticking Donaire in there with scrubs, but I'm not going to give him full credit until he fights a second decent fighter. At this point, for all I know, Donaire was just a great style matchup for Vic and then has faced a bunch of midgets since then. Stick him in with someone halfway decent already, so I can properly evaluate whether he's as good as he looks. I'd love to see Donaire vs. Jesus Jimenez for instance, but Arum just won't risk putting Nonito in there with anyone who's remotely good. That tells me something. If your promoter isn't confident enough that you could beat any good fighters, then why should I be?
Too bad hasegawa has no name on his record to piggyback off of. His resume CRUSHES Nonito's right now.
Donaire's resume is alot better than Hasegawa's and he is a much better fighter. deal with it its not Donaire's fault that Hasegawa has no names on his record.
8 Championships fights crushes having a single guy who just lost on your record.:deal Funny how Nonito didnt crack the list after beating Vic.Only after Vic went on to do bigger better things:thumbsupThat's called piggybacking!
thats called beating the crap out of a fighter who was very underrated. and 1, 8, or 20 championship fights... what matters is the quality of opposition
Very true! When you fight at a higher level longer you should get recognised.Nonito just started fighting guys with winning records not that long ago.Hasewaga's resume shits all over Nonito's!
Donaire's been fighting more than just "guys with winning records". The combined record of his last 4 opponents is 109-3-1, Hasegawa's is 79-7-3.
I think the fight this weekend proved Vic should have NEVER been on anyones P4P list. It has nothing to do with Doniare who did what he was supposed to do against Darchinyan and that is shatter that fragile Glass Jaw. Vic was overrated and his loss this weekend proved it.
Which is why Hasegawa should be rated higher. Donaire's best win is better than any of Hasegawa's wins, but Hasegawa's next 6 wins are all better than Donaire's second best win. Forget Hasegawa for a minute then even - what's the excuse for not having Chris John on the list then? He beat the P4P #2 fighter in the world for Christ's sake, and he's beaten 4 other future or past titlists.
