This was a time before the 265 superheavy weight limit I believe so Kerr probably walked into the ring weighing 260. Brock is walking into that ring at 285. He's cutting 20lbs to get into the HW limit, thats insane. Lesnar wrestled as a teenager and young 20 year old at 285 in college, Kerr wrestled at 190-220 at the same age, he packed on that muscle via weightlifting and roids. While Lesnar has taken steroids (most likely) he is just a naturally much much bigger man steroids or no steroids.
I think Lesnar is stronger. I never saw Kerr manhandle someone as experienced and as good as 6'4 250lb Herring like Lesnar did last night. Infact the only opponent Kerr beat on the level of Herring was Inoue. And Herring was/is better than Inoue. ( along with being much larger and stronger, indeed Herring defeated Inoue)
i don't think you underdstand mark kerr was about along time ago, so you can't compare like for like. Kerr for his day was alot more well rounded than lesnar and was stronger compared to the guys he was fighintg.
Yes we can. They're are both big, strong, rather 1 dimensional wrestlers. Infact you brought up the comparisons before me. I am making the case that Lesnar is bigger stronger and faster than Kerr, you are trying to argue the opposite. Alot more? A teenie weenie little itty bit more well rounded. Lets not forget this is just Lesnars 3rd fight, he will imrpove. You're talking about in some sort of P4P way, well that means you're in a way conceding defeat in that yes, Lesnar IS stronger and much bigger than Kerr in real terms, which is in agreement with my side of the arguement.
you seem to have a limited knowledge of early mma, kerr was one of the most well rounded fighters at that time, now fighter tend to be well rounded something lesnar is not. Your knowledge of kerr is also limited he was a great submission wrestler, lesnar is just a great wrestler. I have never agreed that lesnar is stronger or faster than kerr, your limited comparison of herring and inuoe brought my response, kerr didn't have the chance to fight any big strong well rounded fighters as they didn't exist then.
Kerr was not a great submission wrestler, he had 4 submissions, He knew submissions and how to apply them but he was not by any means a great submission wrestler. We're not talking about if Kerr had a chance to fight any big strong decent well rounded fighters. We're talking about who is the bigger faster stronger fighter, him or Lesnar. I believe its Lesnar. You believe its Kerr. I think its pretty obvious that Lesnar is faster stronger and obviously bigger. Heath Herring is a better win for Brock than any win Kerr has ever had. Kerr is extremley overrated and the first well rounded fighter he did fight, Vovchanchyn, he got beat.
again you tend to overlook the fact that fighters didn't have the skills kerr had at the time, so kerr was a great sub wrestler for the day. We are talking about if kerr had the chance to handle any big strong guys as you said he had never done so and used that as a case to build up lesnars strength. Well i don't seem to remeber lesnar takeing down any 6'8 near 400 pound guys yet so what does that say. Also incase you didn't know the loss a fight until he got to ****ed on drugs, in pride 7 many people thought igor beat him but it was a no contest as he used knees to the head which had been made illegal in pride 7. He also has at least 6 different subs on his resume.
Oh come on Paul Varelans is a fat tub of lard, and an awful fighter, he wasn't strong, just a bloated ball of useless blubber with wins over no one of note.
i agree about vareleans but no matter how **** he was kerr took him down with ease and almsot speared him across the ring you have to be strong as **** to do that.
Il keep it real when Brock did that botched shooting star press and landed on his head he was concussed badly. But was still able to keep wrestling. I think his chins solid :yep
Brock is very talented. We've always known this. We saw this versus Mir but inexperience saw him get caught. He has shown the same talent - strength, power, explosiveness etc I want to see him throw someone across the cage like Jackson and Hughes would do.
i just watched the smashing machine last night...jeez, kerr was two things..pretty ****ing awesome when he was on top in a fight..(bit of an mma tyson???...)..and pretty ****ed up...addicted to opiates and affection id say.....shame..he seemed like a really decent guy out of the ring and a ****in animal inside it....
Mark Kerr won the Abu Dhabi openweight touranment twice and the 99Kilo twice, facing guys like Mario Sperry, Josh bartnett and Ricardo Arona. You wrong :deal
