Mavrovich gave Lewis pure Hell, Mavrovich was a much smaller heavyweight, was outweighed by a huge amount, Mercer beat Lewis, but judges gave Lewis split decison. Lewis was boring against Tua, etc. Vitali staggered Lewis, had only 2 weeks notice for that fight, he beat the crap out of Lewis, but Lewis' promoter signaled Lewis' doctor to signal Lewis' referee to stop the fight on a cut without even bothering to look at it. Vitali was ready to knock Lewis out, Lewis was finished! Lewis quit boxing rather than fight Vitali in a rematch even with the biggest payday of his entire career! Lewis could not hurt Vitali was any of his punches, rubbed his head into Vitali's cut. Lewis is very jealous of Klitschkos and it shows.

Your list points out the problem with a superheavyweight division: there aren't enough of them to make a division. But this list could be better...where's Bowe? Where's Willard? Christ, where's Buster Mathis?

The last thing the sport needs is another division, let alone SuperHW. Holyfield beat plenty of guys who were bigger than him, Tyson too. They weren't prime when they faced Lewis, that's true, and he doesn't have a fantastic resume. Still, Lennox was the best of his era and unified champion. He probably deserves a spot in the top 20 - not that many great HW's to go around in history anyway.

 

Ali was big and had long reach for fighters of his time as well.

Lewis is easily top 10 HW ATG. I personally have him inside top 5.

But P4P, he is not anywhere on the top due to his size.

At 6-3 Ali was tall for a heavy then, and had orangatang arms like Liston 81/2 inch reach.

Fulton was tall...don't remember how tall, at least 6-3 perhaps 6-5...Fulton was of the Dempsy era...didn't quite win the right fight.
