    The majority of posters didn't get your thread. Astounding. I didn't realize so many boxing fans take more shots to the head than most actual boxers.

    The problem with this thread is it's misdirected; noone claims wlad is not a great heavyweight because of his size. His size only comes into question when discussing his current p4p rank.

    There isn't really a valid claim to keep wlad outside of the top twenty anyways, not by anyone worth bothering about.

    @manning

    Size isn't a valid criticism when ranking within a division, ray robinson is a great example of this.

    There aren't many valid criticism's of wlad in terms of his greatness.

    1 is his resume pre steward. That left a lot to be desired but he has more than made up for it since steward took over.

    Calling him safety first is not valid criticism, like complaining about a slow guy for not throwing a flashy combo.

    This kind of thread is whats so cool about the Open Weight Division. Guys are stepping up at 5'10 - 6' foot tall. Normal sized guys who fight in the Heavies have got balls in my opinion. They basically say lets see what the world can throw at me, regardless of size. Nowhere else will you get to fight a guy who is a foot taller than you and 80 pounds heavier. You have an opportunity to use tactics that no other weight division gets to apply.

    Takes more skill, not less skill to be good at big size. size is a double edged sword. Power might go up with size, no guarantee. Speed, balance, stamina. These don't usually scale favorably. Durability maybe. SNV might look like a an oaf when he fights but he is landing on targets a foot shorter, way, way, way faster and probably just as powerful as him and he gets it done. The guy is actually very skilled. Lewis and Wlad, forget about it, seriously skilled.

    The chances of even being a tall boxer are against you. Even just looking at our own communities its obvious that the taller a person becomes when matured, the less likely they are to posses the dexterity and athleticism that's required to become a champion boxer. For every Lewis or Vitali there is a dozen train-wrecks, like the GOAT A-Force.
    So when they do come along, they are alot better than people actually credit them for being.

    Lewis was the boxing worlds top dog. No man on the planet could lace them up and be expected to win against him. Wlad is atm. The pervasive fantasy world of P4P should never even touch the same sentence as the top dogs.

    Long live the Open Weight Division.

    So were undefeated Grant, Henry, Vitali smaller fighters as well when Lewis fought them? :lol: This thread is beyond stupid. Briggs, Golata were just 1 inch shorter in height when they fought Lewis.
