I am sure that many of us, including he boxers themselves are sick of all these alphabet belts. They have devalued the meaning of being the "champ". It's just a word, with very little significance. I mean to put it in perspective what gives you kudos is who you beat, not what belts you hold. That's what makes a great fighter, his achievements in the ring. But it would be nice to have something to put on your mantle piece. I mean years ago, a fighter would take great pride in owning a strap. In my opinion, the best is still the lonsdale belt, awarded to the British champ. That actually has some real history behind it, and to own it outright, is one hell of an honour.

We need to return to one belt, one organisation for world boxing. Then it's clear who is the undisputed champ. It's just getting out of control, when you have multiple champs now, even within organisations I mean there is the champ, then the SUPER CHAMP!!??? what the hell!!

I don't know how easy or difficult it would be, but can't the boxing community get together, trainers, fighters, promotors, everyone associated with boxing, who are not members of those crooked organisations, to take control! form one governing body, and have ONE title to fight for, per weight class.

Can this not be done!!!???? it's about f*****g time!

It's a good point that you'll be hard pushed to find someone who disagree with, though it's just not feasible.

Why would any of these bodies simply close shop or willingly amalgamate with their competition?

But do anyone in the boxing world seriously talk about actually dissolving these criminals!? I mean, why is there still a dependency on these organistions? Do away with them, clean it up and move on! What am I missing? is it really that difficult?

I was only kidding there. Well yeah the alphabet situation is ****, very ****. But we've got to look at the positives, as purists. I remember a few years ago i was thinking 'this Ring Belt thing is great, but it could take a long time to get recognised outside of well, the Ring and its readers', and in a short space of time we had fights on tv for 'the Ring elt' and fighters coming out and saying that's the title they wanted. At the time the Ring belt stood for the right thing in boxing, for the fans and the purists. So there are positives.

The whole 12 rounds instead of 15 is likely all interlinked with the alphabet soup farce also, which again is ****. This whole thing about fighters going an extra three rounds and subsequently being in significantly more danger than they already are is quite a way off imo.

So yeah, we need to ****ing revolt against the alphabet soup but it's probably not going to happen, which is ****. The best thing is to just keep knolwedgeable of what is real.
