my guess is as long as Choc shows up in the same kinda shape he was in for Shane Mosley he should be able to pick apart Josh.. Josh wont enjoy the same size advantage he had at welter weight all them years ago. Add that to his inactivity over the last 4 years and seems like it should be a comfortable win for Choc. they are both gettin on in age and although Josh is 2 years younger (36) only fighting 2 journey men since 2010 will hurt him. Choc's opponents have been questionable at times but he's stayed active and wont be rusty
Clottey retires in his corner 6-7 once the excitable Mundine starts popping him way to easily and vigorously for a well paid sparring session. What is Clotteys pay day for this fight 500-600K?
This could be an interesting fight, Clottey's last victory was a shut out over a journeyman who is actually a decent fighter.
Mundine will win. Clottey at his best was a very good fighter although his Achilles heel imo is his lack of activity in his fights. Mundine by comfortable decision.
Mundine looked old and slow against Geale, and hasn't done anything of note since. Clottey hasn't been particularly active though and I doubt we'll see anything like the Clottey that beat Judah 5 years ago. Clottey made very little effort against PacMac. Content purely on survival. Clottey may be ripe for the picking like Mosley was.
Clottey has faced 2 non-descript opponents since his ordinary performance against Pac in 2010 Mundine TKO wide UD.
Clottey commented recently that he hasn't been stopped in 42 fights. Hard to see him changing his usual game plan now. Hide behind a stiff defence and show a reluctance to engage or take any calculated risks. Good luck to Joshua but it looks like a Mundine UD to me. A possible purse of 600k for Clottey was mentioned. I'd have guessed Boxa would have got him for a lot less than that.
Mundine won't take Clottey lightly, the way I see "the mans" career these days Is he has to keep winning, one loss and the dream is over.
Agree, I think Mundine will start cautiously until he finds his rhythm, his size advantage will see him take complete control after about 5 rounds.
Yeah, Johnson's record isn't pretty but he's been competitive in most of his losses. He also ruined Trupish and recently upset McEwan. Decent win for Clottey.
