I remember well what Leonard said in 83 when the Duran/Hagler fight was made & he said if Duran win's he's def coming back & if Hagler wins he may come back & then winked;) I just think that he felt embarrased after the Howard fight & the doubts he had were well founded.

It's the point of his mentality back in 81/84 rather than the plotting 87 version i was getting at, as Leonard himself said after the Hagler fight in 87 that

If he'd fought Hagler in 82 i'am totally convinced that he would have gone straight at Hagler as was his plan in 87 convinced his speed of reflex would dominated the statergy of the fight.

I don't see much difference in a 81/87 Leonard at middleweight, it all comes down to his stratergy & i just don't see Leonard adopting the tactics he did in 87 & if anything he'd want to KO Marvin but the Howard fight spooked him big time. As i said it's the Kalule fight thats the key to seeing what Leonard would have done.

I'am staying in to watch the match "No Becks" "No Becks":D
