Personally I don't think that was the prime reason.
I thought Canelo was drained for this fight with Khan as well, yet perservered.

The reason why Mayweather beat Canelo was gameplanning.
Mayweathers plan was better than Canelo's.
Potshot and limit the exchanges with is really what Mayweather basically does against dangerous opposition.

Canelo mistake was trying to box center ring with the quicker and faster fighter. He needed to press the action a little more and focus strictly to the body in the early round even if it meant he'd have to give a few rounds away. Canelo didn't do that vs Mayweather and though I thought with Mayweathers speed late in the fight brought down a level, Canelo did better in the latter half of the fight than he did the first half.
    Experience was key.

Khan loves his speed too much. Every time he lands a punch he stops to admire what he just did. He didn't improve. He's the same old Khan. Taggable by the slowest, crudest, most predictable sluggers.

Khan's half guard is an abomination. He gives the impression he's always ready to block something, in practice he manages to always be completely open to anything.

He might as well keep his hands below the belt and conserve energy.

The Trout, Floyd, and Lara fights gave Canelo the experience to deal with Khan's speed.

Khan also says the word "us" every time he punches.

I'm not sure who he is referring to.

No he wasn't troll. You're looking for a way to discredit the win. 1 pound doesn't = badly drained.

I wouldn't be completely against Mayweather-Canelo 2. I think Canelo is a better fighter now but he'd still lose. Rather Canelo than Garcia tbh.

Canelo was drained. He said as much when he said he was never giving up an advantage to an opponent again. Team Mayweather also said that the catchweight would hurt him.

Drained + Green were both contributing factors along w/ Floyd's style.

Ofcourse we can talk about tactics and what happened in that fight, but the cold fact is the fight was a mis match in terms of weight therefore its not a fair contest..

Now I know Khan agreed to the fight thats fine, but as a boxing match it was not fair, every punch Canelo landed had an added effect due to the weight and size disparity, so every little Khan mistake or Canelo good work was highlighted extra and hurt Khan..

Khan is lucky he didnt take a prolong beating..

I agree. I think Khan fought the best fight possible really. He absorbed some decent shots prior to the KO as well. It's the body shots that ****ed him. Better to be sparked out cold than taking 12 rounds of that.

Deffo a 12 beating would of nearly retired Khan for good..

Canelo's body shots really hurt Khan, his ribs were marked up pretty bad..

Yea I noticed the brushing round his ribs.

Khan didn't even bother clinching. Canelo too big and too strong.

Guys with speed will always give Alvarez problems. Alvarez *never* got acclimated to Khan's speed, IMO. Khan's problem is that his technique lacks imagination and creativity. IOW, Khan has a very LOW boxing IQ. It was the same thing all night. Jab, jab, jab - right hand. That's it. No feints, no angles, no nothing. Just jab, jab, jab - right hand.

Alvarez, OTOH, demonstrated that his boxing IQ is on the incline. Timing beats speed and Alvarez used his superior timing and ring IQ to outbox Khan in the second half of that fight. The finishing maneuver, feint the left hand - throw the overhand right, was a thing of beauty. It reminded me of the same feint + right hand that Erik Morales used to do.

The Floyd fight was a great learning experience for Canelo.

That loss was the best thing that could have happened to him.
