Becuase Horn is a lifelong 147er who just moved up to 154 & 160 for big domestic money fights in Australia.

I didn’t think he was going to beat Jeff Horn, forget being in a position for a title shot. Tim started late and he has improved a lot over the years. He’s transformed himself into an exciting pressure fighter.

I’m intrigued to see what he can achieve in his career, whether he wins a title or not.

Gausha won 3 rounds clearly including a 10-8. He made at least three more rounds close enough to debate the winner of the round. If you score two of those three close rounds for Gausha you've got it....114-113. I didn't say i scored it 114-113. I had it 116-111. But still...114-113 is possible if you like precision over blind aggression.

I couldn't get a stream today and after reading all the comments from the first round or two it seemed certain that TT was going to get squashed like a grape such was the doom and gloom.

I agree he was better at 147 but as you age your metabolism slows and the higher weights suit you better.

They actually tried to make that fight at middleweight to stack the deck in Horn's favour.

If you can't see the punches i can't help you. What he will or won't do in future fight has nothing to do with this fight. He was outlanding Gausha.

Hell everyone said he isn't ready after tonight's performance.

This fight is like reflection of his career. He looked bad in the beginning and started to get better and better.

I think I straight up picked against him in that fight. Didn't think he was ready and they tried their best to give Horn every advantage.

I also wasn't confident he would be able to handle Dwight Ritchie at the time.

Tszyu is a strong kid. He won this fight going away. 114-113was a BS scorecard as the fight wasn't that close.

Tszyu needs more head movement and to have some bounce in his feet. He's not ready for the big boys but he is a tough. Just needs some tweeking.

    Good US debut for him.

There have been huge weight cutters at 154 for years so I’m kinda surprised at all the comments about how big and strong Tszyu is when he’s liked 5’8 1/2” with a bit of a Dad bod

If Tim was landing the punches the commentators said he was, and completely dominated like everyone says he did, then he is Paulie level when it comes to punching power. It wasn’t the best fight so I probably won’t watch it again, but it seemed to be Tim landing punches to gloves, Gausha tucking up against the ropes, and Gausha landing flush whenever he decided to throw.
Gausha is a very good boxer so he defended well, and it’s not a slight on Tim that he couldn’t land anything. The point is that - he didn’t land anything so how can it be a dominant win? Tim was much physically stronger and he was all over him. I can’t score rounds based on physical presence or physical superiority, I have to score a boxing contest. Maybe people thought the non-stop pressure with the occasional scoring blow outweighed Gausha’s flush punches. I didn’t, so I gave the close rounds (most of them from the 7th rounds onwards) to Gausha because I preferred the quality over the smothering. I can see why people scored it for Tim. It’s silly that people can’t see how you could score it (or at least score it close) for Gausha.

Tszyu got a wake up call to what fighting in the states could be like with those cards. He wins that 117-110x3 in Aus. At worst. He better be on his Ps and Qs as he fights better American fighters in the states. Doesn’t look like anyone is protecting him over here.
