sometimes we overanalyze too much. boxers train to fight, that is what tim bradley does, he does it well. He shows a lot of versaitlity, he is not P4P yet but he is a champion who has POTENTIAL to be great. nothing else to be said. As per lamont peterson, he can compete with any champion at 140.
This mother ****er shows a video of a speed bag. Anybody can hit a damn speed bag. In the video Peterson, clearly states that he didn't have a speedbag in his old gym. The things that Peterson does in the ring are VERY hard to duplicate as he is a very good athlete. His balance is great. Which brings me to another point, Bradley has EXCELLENT balance. And he's an adaptable fighter. Holt a guy with great handspeed, fast feet, and good power, was talkin a lot of **** before his fight with Bradley, and Bradley put on a great show, bangin the **** outta Holt's body. He fought great as an aggressive fighter. Against Peterson, he fought aggressively for a portion of the fight, and then managed to completely outbox him, pitching a virtual shut out. The only thing the guy lacks is a big punch. You sound like a hater. A ****in speed bag. **** that ****.
And you talk about the ****in speed bag like it's really that vital. If the speed bag is so ****in vital, then why is easy to hit with your eyes closed? If anything, Peterson proved that it wasn't necessary. I'm not sayin, it's not helpful, but you act like the speed bag is be all end all of whether or not you can box, when in reality, it's overrated as a hand eye coordination tool. I prefer double end bags. And that Wade kid looks like a slugger. He ain't on the same level as Peterson or Bradley. Not even close. The only thing Bradley lacks is POWER. That's it. Other than that, he's the complete package.
speed bag is useless, i dont understand what the **** its supposed to do. i never use it in the gym and i used to box this **** out of mofos in the gym as i had natural speed. what does the speed bag do?
I'm a fan of Bradley and I'll gladly watch his fights, but I have to agree that he is getting a bit overrated, especially when the topic turns to Bradley vs Pacquiao. Since the mini-uprising where people started accusing Manny of ducking him, I've been calling it because I can't see any way Bradley would last the distance vs Pacquiao and not sustain a career altering beating in the process. He holds no physical advantages over Pacquiao, no skill advantages, and gets hit too much. Combine that with Tim's heart and lack of upper level power, and you've got a recipe for a beatdown. Bradley's a quality, improving fighter. But putting him in with Pac now is too soon and Manny would shred him. Let him develop and see what happens with a couple more fights against Maidana, Alexander, etc. and then see where he's at. Now? Pac dismantles him. It'd be mortgaging his boxing future for one big payday now.
Why would Pacquiao vs Bradley look a lot like Pacquiao vs Morales?? Bradley and Morales are nothing alike, and Pac doesn't fight exactly like he did back then either. Erik Morales never got dropped hard by a Kendall Holt standard fighter. He was a far tougher proposition then than Bradley is now, Morales had so much experience. If Bradley beats Alexander, I'll accept him as a legit threat to Pac. Until then, I stick with the prediction that Pac would dominate, dazzle and destroy Bradley. (I don't think Bradley would beat Alexander, though it would be a great fight, they are two of the best prospects in the world)
I have to agree with you Darryl Bradley is a very good fighter who has beaten good to quasi elite fighters. To downplay the kid that much is simply nonsense.
Bradley is one of my favorite new fighters, but i have to agree, i had went back a few weeks ago and was watching some of his fights again and i realised some of the things youve stated, and how i used to think he would be too much for Alexander, that fight is now 50/50 at least in my eyes. That being said, SKILLS are only PART of the equation. You say hes beating people a lot to do with his will and condiditioning, well.... so what? That doesnt mean hes not a good fighter, that simply means his skillset might not be as polished, tight, and refined as some think. Theres fighters out there with much much much less skill then Bradley who get by on will and conditioning, and also many fighters out there with waaaaaay better physical gifts and skills then bradley who sink cuz they dont have enough of it. Wether he wins fights by being the best pure boxer on the planet, or he wins fights by beating his people down and outwilling them with activity and pressure, it doesnt matter as long as he wins. Bradley DOES have skills though, but whats more is Bradley has a nice mix of everything, and theres no telling how high he can raise that bar should he need to, or how much he will improve. But good post and it offers a lot of insight :good
As much as some are over hyping him, you are under rating him.. Is he an elite? No.. Is he the best 140lber? Yes right now he is, until he gets beat. You seem to be fixated on the fact that he's been dropped, and that he hasn't stopped opponents... So what? He got off the canvas to win, and he won despited ko'ing his opponent... A win is a win...
Bradley question mark on his chin and heart not his skills and speed.Maidana will do a chin check and ticker test on this kid..
Bradley ain't exactly a top p4p talent and not many people make him out to be one. ITs funny to see people think they are hot **** when what they are saying is common knowledge. Alot of people thought Dirrell would beat Abraham too buster.
