Weight and best fighting weight are two different things. Mayweather claims he came to the ring against Cotto at 147.

Let's try this a different way :patsch

What weight does Pacquaio rehydrate to?
What weight does Bradley rehydrate to?

They're similar yes? What's the physical dimensions of both? Similar yes?

Bradley is not fighting Ortiz who is a huge WW, he is fighting Pacquaio. A small Welterweight. As mentioned previously; Devon Alexander was probably bigger than Pacquaio will be come fight night.

Carries and handles the new weight?! Bradley fought at this weight against Abregu, and all it means is that he doesn't have to worry about making weight. He's an in shape guy all year round, he's not fat burning, he's going to weigh in more at ease than he does at 140.

The weight here means NOTHING. Both guys are pretty much equal when it comes to size.

Correct. Cotto weighs in at 154 and then re-hyrates a little. Mayweather's body is 147 lbs round or round abouts. That's where he's comftorble.

Pacquaio's body weight is around 142 - 144, so he weighs in there and fights there.

Bradley's body weight is around about the same, so he'll weigh in there, and fight there.

Abgregu isn't exactly a good enough test compared to Pacquiao and not close, that's my point. Why would ANY fighter worry about making weight when he's moving up?

How he handles this weight against a fighter as dangerous as Pacquiao is the main question here knowing how Bradley tends to open up and lose his defense during exchanges.

The weight means nothing to braindead morons. Weight is what this sport is all about and different weights mean A LOT in different situations/fights/styles.

Please try to comprehend. Bradley's weight come fight night is most likely going to be the same as it was when he fought at 140.

I really can't be much clearer, unless you'd like me to draw you a picture and post it.

Anyone else find it funny how Pac used the excuse on the 24/7 of underestimating JMM?

He said something like on fight night he looked bigger than me? Wasn't that the case in all his "historic" weight climbing wins?

Hmm the only thing was that JMM was a guy just as big as him and with better skills. Bradley I would say has the same level skills as Pac and will actually be a bit bigger than Pac. If he can avoid Pacs shots cutting through his wide shots we will have a great fight.

Jesus, I don't get why you fail to understand my obvious point.

Bradley is not a natural welterweight YET, his body hasn't gotten used to this weight as Pacquiao's did. Remember how small Pacquiao looked compared to DLH in his first fight at welterweight?, see how his body developed through the years as he stayed at the weight category and kept busy/fighting?

It takes any normal body time to get used to a specific weight category and Bradley obviously hasn't gotten used to this weight nor has he applied the proper strategies at the weight. Remember how aggressive Mayweather was at 130-135 only to be forced to maximize his defense at higher weights knowing that his hands won't handle it and those guys are obviously naturally bigger?

Bradley is having a suicidal fight, style-wise, against the aggressive, lightning fast and powerful Pacquiao who has one punch KO power. As a new welterweight, compared to Pacquiao who has been fixed in this weight category since 2008, this COULD spell doom. Especially when we both know Pacquiao has a solid chin and Bradley never had power at 140, let alone 147. Add to that Bradley's fighting style which has a lot of defensive flaws and open exchanges.

No one knows what the outcome is obvious and no one knows how well Bradley might perform at the weight either, like no one knew how Pac would do against DLH. Logically, this spells doom for Bradley like it spelled doom for Pacquiao leading up to the DLH fight.

    1. You're missing a key point. Pacquaio's natrual weight was about 135, 140 when he moved up to fight Oscar. He had to put that extra weight on his frame. He didn't cut to make his fights at the lower weight. Bradley cuts weight to get to 140, and then rehydrates a little. All he'll do this time, is not de hydrate himself. We're not going to see a 150lbs Bradley in the ring, we're going to see Bradley fighting at his natrual weight, just as he does when he fights at 140. Only difference is that he's comftorble, rather than having to drain his body for the weigh in.

    2. Hasn't got used to the weight? As my first point relates to, he will fight at the weight he USUALLY fights at. He's used to it. All the extra lbs on the weight limit means is that he has no need to drain his body! He can have breakfast before the weigh in etc.

    3. Yes, Mayweather moved up and changed his style.

    A. His hands were already damaged.
    B. Against Welterweights HIS SIZE, Mayweather has been aggressive.
    C. He's more defensive against bigger guys, ala Baldomir. Obviously Pacquaio isn't as big as Baldomir, he's Bradley's size.

Your argument that the guys are bigger is moot. Pacquaio is not bigger than Bradley. This is basically a fight between two guys who could cut a few lbs to make JWW, but don't have too. As a result, neither will cut, and neither will need to rehydrate. Yhey'll fight at their natrual weight. (As the would if they fought at 140.)

That may be because he hasn't been doing the pylometrics training these last three fights that he was doing before with Ariza.. Since not being satisfied with his last performances, Pacquiao has gone back to doing pylometrics for this fight.. Reason he didn't do it the last few fights is because it's real grueling and it takes a lot out of you, but it's definitely worth it as it shows in the ring just like his fights with Cotto, Hatton, Diaz & DLH..

I really dont see weight playing a huge factor. I see styles and power playing the biggest factor. I've never seen bradley execute the boxing skills consistent enough and at a high enough level to make me believe he has a chance to outbox pacquiao, and I also dont see him getting on the inside without taking brutal, brutal punishment.
