Timothy Bradley would like for the top fights to 'mature' a little longer for about a year or so.

    Timothy Bradley:

    Gary Shaw:

Gary Shaw and Bradley obviously want to face either Marquez, Khan or Maidana before they get in with Alexander.

He called out Mayweather, Pacquiao, Paul Williams and Cotto in other parts of the article. Sounds like he just wants a big fight to make some cash. Beating Alexander would put him in a position to catch a big fight which Shaw doesn't seem to be interested in.

I think it's an attempt at justifying why Khan is fighting lightweights.

i doubt he is interested in what khan is doing

he knows that khan wants him and alexander to fight each other

so that he only needs to beat either bradley or alexander to posibly unify the belts

bradley aint the kind of fighter that is ducking or scared but understands that it takes time to build and knows khan wants to dictate who fights who like he is the promoter:verysad

Alexander outpoints Bradley, landing far cleaner shots and taking
the fight by a UD, thats only my opinion.

Bradley can beat older fighters on their way down for more coin
than he would get fighting Alexander - and at less risk.
Whilst in the meantime, building anticipation for a future
fight with Alexander, they are investments for each other, so long as
    they keep winning.

This is the biggest problem in boxing. I cant express how much I hate that attitude.

Except for Alexander, they all have an excuse as to why they should not fight the other top fighters in their division.

If I was a reporter, I would ask Bradley why he thinks he should get a fight with the top guys at 147 when he has not even proven himself the best at 140. Why should they consider fighting someone like YOU Tim?

He aint a big name and wont become one unless he he beats the other guys. So why does he want to put that on hold and call out the top dogs at the same time?

:patsch. Khan wants the same. A ToonToon said, I'm trying to bring across this point and I find it funny how you agree with this. Khan wants the same.

Bradley does not want this fight because there's no money in it. Nor is there for Khan yet you want Khan to face both of them.

So if Khan wants Bradley and Alexander to fight then what you're saying is that Khan and Alexander should fight so there's one left for Bradley. It's the same either way.

Khan's point is the exact same, along with his promoters. He also wants these fights to mature but you don't see it for Khan. You want him to fight the best right now.

Agreed, but that's just how it is in every division. Money talks but Timothy rather fight someone else instead of Alexander (right now).

Shaw normally comes across as a bit of a plank (well, a lot of a plank), but he's making sense on this one.

It's ashame that dumb fighters like Bradley thinks he already deserve a big money fights like facing either Pac, Mayweather or Cotto next when he hasn't clean out at junior welterweight.

The difference is Kahn is calling out smaller fighters.

    Bradley is challenging larger fighters.

For the record I agree with Bradley in the above quote - the 140 division is blessed with amazing talent, and it would be a shame if these fighters/fights were pushed without being given the development and hype they deserve.

However, I do find it funny how it's ok for only Bradley and Alexander to benefit from pursuing this route, simply because they are American. Khan at the moment matches these two in talent (at least!), and has the potential to be something very special in this division. So why isn't he allowed to be part of this building up? Why should Non-American fighters have to take the harder approach?

Its the anticipation of matching 'undefeated' fighters against each other.
I dont think its correct as some of these prospects pad their way up,
but the hype around these guys is often with their undefeated tag.

With Bradley and Alexander they look to have the skills to back up the
hype - not saying Khan doesnt, but he has been defeated and some
fans dont overlook that and often point it out.

Pitting 2 undefeated fighters against each other builds more hype IMO,
because someones losing that tag and we do find out where both fighters
are at, whereas we kinda know where Khan is at.
