Eric Brown is the chief second for Lopez (backed up by Julian Chua and Sam Katkovski) - if the name is familiar, he previously coached Peter Quillin and Paulie Malignaggi.

Valenzuela's corner is manned by Francisco & Rogelio Lara and Herve Estrada.

    Round 3

Valenzuela is trotting away, mouth-breathing, starting to spread his arms in a wide V and bring his wrists together in a pinching motion around Lopez's to stem his assault. Valenzuela is taking weak slashes with both hands, just arm punches, going through his motions but not turning anything over and never coming near landing. Most of his focus is now on grabbing and dodging. Lopez is still connecting with heavy body shots behind the straight jab into the guard, which itself sometimes creeps through and stamps Valenzuela between the eyes.

    10-9 Lopez

    30-27 Lopez

Getting to be a domination. If this was scheduled for more than 4, a stoppage would be likely given how gassed Valenzuela seems and how fresh Lopez by comparison.

    Round 4

Valenzuela is slathering Lopez with his doughy cocoa-brown arms, ramming in shoulder-first and treading on the inside with a gathering motion, bringing his arms in toward his own face and pulling on the back of Lopez's neck. Valenzuela barely throwing anything constituting "punches". Lopez OTOH is rocking his man with the 1-2 up top and especially the hard can-opener right on the body. Valenzuela's head is being snapped back repeatedly by jabs. Valenzuela works his way in close and slaps with a high left hook. Lopez dribbles a quick shoeshine into Valenzuela's lungs.

    10-9 Lopez

    40-36 Lopez

Well, this kid fights nothing like 2011 Quillin or 2013 Malignaggi (who also fought nothing alike) - so Eric Brown must be more of a "general fitness and fundamentals" type coach rather than someone with a signature identifiable style that he imprints on fighters.

TKC aka "T-Nice" is an exciting TV fighter but won't go too far IMO.

You'll be in time for the main card with an hour to spare. Not a special undercard anyway.

Yeah. Really the only good fight tonight. Not even any supplemental action on the Spanish language channels. Marco Periban vs. some no-mark, that's it.
