Yes, I know Bradley can't make 140 anymore. But how would the 140 version of him do against Matthysse?
3 years ago it'd be very competitive. The Bradley who got terrorized by Diego Chaves wouldn't stand a chance against Lucas.
Bad matchup for Lucas. Bradley can take his punch and easily outbox him. Mathysee struggled with good boxers like Judah and Alexander, Bradley is a class above both.
Gotta wait for the dust to settle from the Matthysse Provodnikov fight before predicting. Right now I have Bradley UD, or Lucas stopping him in the early rounds maybe 4th or 5th.
I pick Bradley against Matthysse. I just dont think Matthysse is that great. He is good, but not great. Bradley is a great boxer, if he sticks to a gameplan.
It's hard to beat Matty Ice if you don't have the power to deter him. Garcia had the power to make Matthysse respect him. Bradley? Not so much. I'd pick Matthyyse via late TKO. The styles would have favored him.
2009-2011 (with hindsight) - Khan, Bradley and Matthysse should have ruled 140. None faced one another though. Alexander & Peterson a step below BUT Alexander had the ability to outbox Matthysse (JUST ABOUT, but factoring in his chin is probably the best out of Khan & Bradley) Bradley should have been able to box to a decision... Quite simply: It's all close and competative. Nothing has changed.
