Great fight, but good god what has gotten into Tim? He looked more like Tim Henman than Tim Bradley. Awful fight strategy and gameplan! Trying to punch with the puncher (and Bradley aint no power puncher!) he was nearly made to pay for it. Is he trying to convince people? Is he fighting two fights? The one in the ring and the one to win the fans over? For an undefeated fighter and a smart multi-functional fighter at that (at least I thought he was) that was a terrible performance for the most part of the fight against Provodnikov. Ignoring his corner and fighting reckless. He was out of it in some parts of the fight. He clearly has the heart of a champion, but he certainly didnt fight like one that night. All over the place he was in some rounds and did OK for a few when he boxed. But soon reverted back to type at the end of the fight? :think If Bradley continues to fight like that and fight to win fans, he will lose plenty of fights. We may get great fights, but that undefeated record will soon change. Hopefully that fight is the lesson he needed to not go back down that scary road. He may never be the same again!
I think he just underestimated Provodnikov tbh. Hel be alot more cautious if they fight again,no doubt about it.
He wasn't that good even when he boxed, I think he took a lot out of himself getting hurt early. Just put it down as an overall terrible performance, probably trying to prove something against somebody he thought was too bad to really capitalise on mistakes, that proved not to be the case.
:good, he said he was concussed and I certainly believe him. Infact I've a strong feeling it was that massive right hand in the first round that done it. I know people normally rubbish it when this is thrown out, but that shot would of knocked out many money, it really was an absolute ender and somehow Bradley took it (just). From then on the was all over the shop, and tbh winning the fight consideing what transpired took epic amounts of bottle. I'm not sure a rematch would be quite as competitive.
When was the last good Bradley performance anyway? Look at his fights for the last 3 or 4 years ago and highlight the ones when a smart versatile boxer was in evidence.
The boy finds a way to win. It was stupid decision making that put him in that position. For a guy who was basically out of it for a long time he showed great fitness, still managed to do some classy work and manage his way to victory. His Ring IQ and Chameleon style won him the fight as well as the other things like fitness/heart/will to win. The dog/pride in him nearly lost it for him. Ward likes to prove things, Bradley does to but Ward does it in a smarter way. Bradley's raw and got that balls to the wall mentality. He's had a fine career, Time for him to box smart now and pick fights wisely as he enters the latter part of career.
If he doesn't have a good ring IQ then he wouldn't of won that fight IMO. He obviously had the fitness and heart and ability but also used body punching to wear Ruslan down as well as using lateral movement. The middle rounds he settled down and boxed his way to victory. As i said in my initial post he fights the dog in him as well as the opponent but his ring IQ is better then many around today and that's why he's beaten the fighters he has. Don't get me wrong his Ring IQ wasn't as good as it has been in the past but he used it enough at the right times. Concussed as well.. Also when hurt and nearly gone in that final round to take a knee and see the round out was smart from him. Others wouldn't of done that. He fought a stupid fight but can't question his ring IQ it's been there for a long time.
I do agree however that he's not performed as well as he has in last few years. But he still wins that's why i rate the guy. He's a winner and finds a way to stay in fights even when struggling. Haters gon hate.
Nice av mate. Can't believe how stupid Bradley fought man, that aint him even if he had a break. He is trying to win fans over and try and prove to people that he beat Pacquiao. If he carries on like that, it will see him get beat and a career shortened. I just didnt get it. Nor did I with him ignoring corner instructions.
Cheers mate :good. Yep Diaz said Bradley didn't listen and went out there with his own thoughts. He can box, he can brawl and in the pocket he did some nice work but he put himself at risk stupidly. TBH it sounds like that's the worst camp he had and had mental demons going into the fight. He's a better fighter then that, He made a hard night of that and then some. I don't expect him to fight like that again. I made a thread about him not listening to Diaz. I think he's lost his way somewhat. Still a darn good fighter though.
No doubting that mate. I rate him as much as you do. But to fight like that was lunacy. He didnt even fight that reckless against Pac and he chose to ignore Diaz, a world class trainer and someone who I have always thought is a huge part to Bradley's success and determination/will to win. Bradley is clearly a warrior, but the mentality in that fight was all over the place. Maybe it was the concussion, maybe it wasnt. Bradley is one tough cookie, I'm hoping that last fight was just a one of and goes back to doing what he does best. Going Bravado will see him get beat, there is no need for it, he is a talented boxer and should do just that, box. Getting involved in a war with a puncher when you aint one yourself, was stupidity. Diaz was giving him the correct advice, it seemed to me that Bradley was just on a one way road and wanting to prove himself and prove to others he beat Pacquiao and he has the cojones. Diaz didnt need to be in the corner. Bradley was set in his ways. Being Bravado will create eye candy fights and fans, but it will see him beat and badly if he fights that way again.
Agree totally Craney. He choose to fight Ruslan and paid the price for trying to impose his will and brawl with him early. The concussion was a price he paid but the way he pulled himself through that fire, Well anyone who hated him before should give the guy props. Put on a hell of a show!.
The MRI scan showed Bradley wasn't actually concussed so I guess we'll have to find another excuse for him electing to trade with the Ruskie and not holding on whilst hurt... :hey
