First of all Bradley is not Pac, and Khan is not slow like Marga. The reason i state height is Khan will use his range and beat Bradley up with the left hand jab. Bradley will want to get inside but i have seen him jumping in with hooks which leaves him wide open vs taller fighters.
In theory, Amir Khan should have been sticking Maidana on the outside but that just didn't really happen - not for sustained periods of time. Khan floats on the outside, and then explodes with combination's. I don't see him dominating Bradley with a jab for 12 rounds.
If Bradley is that limited, he would not have an 0 on his record after fighting Witter, Holt, Peterson, Campbell, and Abrego. He's obviously doing something right. He's going to beat Alexander. It might not be pretty but he will.
But Khan landed Jabs on Kotelnik and Paulie's faces all night. The thing is different styles make different fight, Maidana was just willing to walk down Khan, he didnt care if he was jabing or throwing bombs thats the way he is a pressure fighter. Bradley on the other hand dont fight like Maidana (not many do) plus is shorter Khan can land combos and get out, Bradley will press, but i think Khan this time will deal with it better, after learning from the Maidana fight, plus Bradley dont carry big power which helps.
I've seen Bradley fight live from almost ringside, against Kendall Holt. Kellerman is right. The guy is not particularly fast, not particularly skilled. He's a little bit underwhelming but he's fun to watch because he is so well rounded. He doesn't really have anything to exploit specifically. He is short but deals with his height well. Can he put on a spectacular showing against other top fighters like Amir Khan, Juan Manuel Marquez? I don't think so. I think he's a tough fight for anyone, that you've gotta be able to put on a special performance to beat him soundly. But that you've gotta be relatively poor to get dominated in spectacular fashion by him. His greatest asset is his amazing conditioning
I really like Bradley. Should he get past Alexander, which I think he will, I think he loses to Khan, but I'm not convinced he does. It would be Khan superior tools against Bradley's skill and intangibles. It's a fight I greatly look forward to.
This. Anyone who says that Khan winning against Bradley is a sure thing is talking out of their a**. Khan's defence was exposed by Prescott once, and by Maidana the second time. If Khan doesn't stay away from the inside game, he will get clobbered earlier on due to the skill difference between Maidana and Bradley. The only impressive point for Khan from the Maidana fight, was the fact that even Bradley, who was present for the fight, noted that Khan did not go down despite the flush punches he took, so Bradley is well aware that the old "Khan can't take a punch" attitude is now invalid. That doesn't, however, put it beyond Bradley to send Khan to the canvas with a well placed shot to the chin. He may not be as strong a puncher as Maidana but he IS powerful.
Timothy Bradley imo is the best right now at Junior Welterweight. He will win against Devon, and will figure out Amir Khan en route to a convincing UD. He'll unify the titles.
If he loses to Alexander and Khan you'll hear all kind of people talking about his limitations. To me he's already doen a great deal taking his title from a tricky avoided champion in Witter, unifying against Holt, taking on Nate Campbell when he was considered on top, dominate Petterson who went on to draw with Ortiz (controversal or not). His 2010 has been a little disapointing but the Alexander fight is big He's a very complete boxer, he does nothing truly great, but he combines speed, defense, timing and conditioning to be a very good all rounder. He knows how to get opponents to fight his fight and take their advantages away. He's already proved allot and looked dominant over tricky opposition but he's got 2 very good co-champions to unify against, 1 of which has 5inches of height on him. I think he's a more skilled boxer than Khan but getting past his jab and forcing the fight inside will be tough
A win over Alexander put's Bradley in contention for the winner of Mosley Vs. Pacquaio. (IMO, Automatic next in line) Sadly tho, A Bradley win over Alexander would elevate him to the dreaded once/twice a year fight for $ rank in turn which ruins a good thing
