hi. i'm 47kg and 153cm. i'm preparing for my first fight. i find that most people i fight are taller then me and have longer reach. i no i need to improve my footwork to be lighter and faster. any tips? thanks ps AMY i watched some of your fights on the net, good work!
well if your shorter than the guy you have to get inside and then punch...because he has the advantage of the longer arm for the jab or right or w/e
thank you. :blood How did you find me? ....I hope my future opponents aren't watching them as well. atsch
hey amy. um... on one of the post on the site. cant remember the topic. i was browsing. you put up the link on one of your posts. your right, they could be watching. the footage is good quality.
Whew, I think I'm safe on here....unless I'm fighting you on Saturday. As far as the foot work stuff. Eesh, I don't think I should be giving advice on that one.
LOL no i swear. i just love boxing. i found this site last week and have learnt so much already from reading everyones posts.
SAQ is always a good way to improve footwork it will make u lighter on your feet, although it may not seem very sport specific, it will generally improve your foot speed in short bursts, maybe bobbing and weaving would be a good strategy for you 2 get on the inside.
Speed Agility Quickness training theres a link here - http://www.pponline.co.uk/encyc/speed-agility-quickness.html i really would have thought that more peole wouldknow what SAQ training is, it is very effective, and although it is designed as a programme 4 footballers and rugby players, it will give the same benefits to a boxer.
