Saw this today and was curious if anyone knows any more about this. The link is below.

If the photo was taken by Oskar Gustav Rejlander as the article believes it to be, it'd have to be taken no earlier than 1854 and thus it can only be a picture of William Perry and Tom Sayers. The Slasher was 6' 1/2", Sayers was 5' 8 1/2".

If it was taken by William Henry Fox Talbot then it can be any fight that has taken place from autumn 1840. It is unlikely any of his fights with Charles Freeman, who was over a foot taller than Tipton Slasher. Tass Parker, Tom Paddock and Harry Broome had the same height - 5' 10 1/2".

Does it look like 2 or 4 inches height difference between the two?

It looks like 2 inches. But the man on the right doesn't look like any photos of Sayers I've seen.

What makes you think Talbot could have taken the photo?

I don't have any guesses about the photographer. I used Talbot to set the lower limit to the period when it could possibly be made, he is considered the first British photographer. Supposedly Talbot improved his photography process in Autumn 1840 so that taking a picture occupied not hours, but about half-minute.

    Tass Parker - http://www.blackcountrymuse.com/photos/undefined/scan0003-2.jpg
    Tom Paddock -

    Harry Broome - http://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/lookandlearn-preview/XE/XE222/XE222149.jpg

If I had to pick one of the three, the man on the right could be Harry Broome.

It says believed to have been taken by Rejlander.

It is possible that it's Rejlander (whose earliest photos are dated 1854), but there actually were plenty of photographers in London in the 1850s. Then again, it's not even 100% that it's William Perry. We all are just guessing.

Too bad the image on the site is so small, too. I can't dismiss the version that the man on the right could be Tom Sayers after all, it's difficult to figure the face features because of the shadows.
